Fang of Vog suggestion (Constructive Criticism Welcome!)

Since the Fang of Vog has a very low attack speed, and lower damage than the Brandish line, its often seen very useless, except for its charge attack. This, of course, makes it a very niche weapon. Using a weapon slot solely for its charge seems a little silly, as all weapons have a use outside of their charge.

I suggest that Fang of Vog be buffed with an effect for when you set yourself on fire with it. When you set yourself on fire, it should give you an attack speed increase (Possibly enough to match normal swords, or a little higher) and a damage increase (A little higher than the Combuster's power.)

This effect would only be unleashed when you are set on fire, and it is proportional to how long you would burn for. For example, if you were to burn for 8 seconds, the damage increase would last for that long as well. 4 seconds for fire? 4 seconds to deal increased damage. The damage and speed increase will go away if you switch away from Fang of Vog though. The burning sensation will (obviously) stay.

I am open to all suggestions on my idea. Some reasoning behind your advice would be helpful as well.
Thanks!

That sounds like a very good idea as I love the Fang of Vog and would like to have more of a use for it.

Yes, I like FoV as well. Its kind of disappointing that its efficiently the last sword in the game, and is arguably the worst as of right now. But I like it. I also like Vog Cubs. Wish they weren't extinct. :c

I also dare say I am afraid to use it's useful ability, that being the charged attack because of being burned. With these changes, it would let you use the FoV's charged attack even more knowing you get a damage increase yet with the price of your health being burned down. I personally just use it because I can burn enemies with normal swings, the design, and the fact it's like an end-boss weapon. It also shows you've had plenty of experience in FSC (unless you bought it from someone else). Make it a sword worth using tokens on instead of the much more useful shield for 10 tokens less.

Yes, I got this sword myself. I honestly have to say, I was pumped just looking at it before I had it. I mean, the charge attack? AWESOME. Unfortunately that seemed to be the only awesome part, and even that had a drawback. I really want to give the sword a use here.

FoV was made for the charge,

FoV was made for the charge, so the rest of the sword was made to emphasize that.
First problem: your suggestion would require re-coding all the fire mechanics just to accommodate one scenario.
Second problem: the normal combo was designed to be terrible, so it's not likely to change mechanics-wise.

You forget Duke

It was designed to be terrible when Vanaduke first came out, but now we have weapons that obliterate it in, not only its area, but its element.

Now your "first problem" scenario I completely agree with, because that's entirely true; however, the combo was designed to be terrible back when not even the flourish line existed if I remember correctly, and seeing how the brandish line now can take that Fang of Vog with its Combuster line and say "Hey, I can burn things everywhere with no risks." means it's just an overall better weapon. Sure, the FoV can do some nice burn and damage with it's CiV based charge attack, but it's not really impressive enough to be a double edged sword. While still a viable weapon, it's obviously outclassed.

That being said, it needs for its double edged rights to be renewed, much like the Gran Faust.

I would simply say giving it the attack speed it deserves would be accurate enough of a buff. At the moment the weapon has 2 uses, swing once and guard trying to burn the enemy or to charge it up to do a nice hit and risk forcing damage upon yourself. The first use not being good enough for the lack of viability from the first use, due to its speed being so low. The sword at ultra or max has the attack speed of a normal sword, which just isn't right.

That sword either needs its attack speed increased to make it viable in another area that's not just cutting yourself needlessly, or for its charge to be buffed enough to where it's a dunk machine with a price, much like it was before all this new fancy stuff out-classed the poor thing.

movement speed

I think a movement speed buff when the knight is on-fire would make more sense.

I think it should join the DVS and WHB considering they all have the same basic shape...

Eh, maybe.

Might make FoV spammers in LD (due to recent charge changes) a bit too OP. I don't want to see this become the second most common noob tactic, FoVs hurt.
