Which armor set?

So I'm on my way to a full 3* gear set. However, I don't know which armor to get. Since I wanted to get this knight to T3 as quick as possible, I first considered getting the cobalt armor. However, the Wolver set seems like a better alternative, but would cost me 70k crowns more. Or are there better sets I should get?
I primarily use a sword, sometimes guns and never bombs.

Edit: I thought of becoming a bomber. Does the demo set even make sense if I only have like 3 bombs?

3* isn't T3, 4* is.
With your taste in weapons, get wolver. Learn to buy recipes and craft your gear at an alchemy machine to save cr or if you absolutely must, use the auction house. If you don't plan on focusing on bombs, don't get demo.

Also, if I might add, that is probably the longest username I've seen yet.

Where on earth does 70k crowns come from?

A little off-topic, but still...
Recipes for wolver+dusker leads to 10,000cr.
Crafting costs: 2,800cr.
200 energy (use mist to save money!): Up to 14,000cr.
Total: 26,800cr (OK, 40k crowns for another 200 energy).

@Dukeplatypus The missions give you recipes for the entire cobalt line. Since this is free (which means it is 10,000cr cheaper - 16,800cr in total) it is the cheapest armour, and thus you do not have to grind for as long to get it, ergo he gets to t3 faster, even if it is 4*. It even gives you the first armour, knocking it down to 14,000 crowns - all you actually need is 200 energy.

It depends on whether you want to invest in a better armour, or just to use the minimum requirement set to move on ASAP. The cobalt line is actually pretty bad.

EDIT: That's not 70k crowns more, or even 70k total. Wolver is actually only 12.8k crowns more expensive.
EDIT#2: I'm talking about the 3* armours here, to avoid confusion.

I am aware of the mission

I am aware of the mission rewards. Cobalt would technically be the quickest and cheapest way to T3, but you'll regret not taking the time to get Wolver, considering how unspectacular the Cobalt line in general is.

1. Yeah, I know T3 starts at 4*. What I meant with T3 wasn't really related to my question.

2. 70k are from recipes. I'd buy Dusker (not sure really, maybe I should craft the Dusker set), so that means 20k for the Ash Tail set and 50k for the Skolver set. Yes, with T3 I meant 5*.

The reason I thought of staying with Cobalt is that I don't really play a lot. However, I don't want to wait months just to progress to T3.
Maybe I can make some money crafting Dusker Coats and selling them if I'm not playing at all on a day so I can get there quicker.
Thanks for your help!

Bomber Set

Bomber makes sense if you're focusing on bombs, as stated above. It doesn't matter for the number of bombs you use for using bomber set, more of whether or not you'll be using bombs a lot or not. A fairly high CTR UV on a bomb you're using will make up for the set, more or less. I use bomber equips when I only switch off between 2~3 bombs, sometimes only using 1 bomb at times.

A better way of phrasing the question could have been if you're asking about sets is probably to ask what set would be most reasonable to upgrade for T3 that is most easily aquired. Well, seems you already more or less got your answer for that so... oh well.

The problem with just

The problem with just advancing as quickly as you can is that you won't be ready for T3 once you get there. You'll be there with underpowered armor (possibly weapons, too) in addition to not having enough experience. Take the slower route and go Wolver if you're a swordsman. It'll be better for you in the end. Also, if you want to use bombs about as much as your swords, consider mixing Demo and Wolver. However, only do this if you know you want to use them equally. Otherwise, pick the armor that best suits your style and skip Cobalt altogether. Its only practical use is as a costume.

Bombs in general

If you're planning on using bombs in general, you want CTR UV or full bomber set. You'll really appreciate the CTR when using bombs. 1 piece of bomber might not be enough to really make a difference, unless it's 5*

armors

i've been playing the game for 10 days, and im in full5*. it shouldnt take you months to get your armor. secondly i was in a similar situation as you, and i went with the wolver and am currently in skolver and i love it. plus if u stake at the marketplace you can eventually find a good sale on the recipes.

Another idea: Get Vog Cub

Another idea: Get Vog Cub instead of Skolver, or at least one piece. Elemental+fire resist Vog is popular for FSC, the most common money-making level in tier 3, is good for construct-rich IMF, and elemental is (I think) the most common type of damage in the game after normal. I wouldn't think more than one piece of Skolver would be needed for most places since beasts are pretty easy to fight, and RJP would be easy enough with 5 * gear even without piercing protection. Personally, I'm thinking of getting Vog coat and cap first, then getting one piece of skolver.
