Since it too sooooooo long for something this uber to come up.
Now I want to see it change hands over and over in the AH with its price increasing by 1 mil Cr each time. That is the true destiny of all epic virtual items.
Lol crimson, it didn't take very long at all.
@Rangerwillx. It's okay. I'm mostly over it--it's a different game now and i've came to accept that. I view the new gear very prejudiced. I don't really consider anything to be epic anymore, because it is no longer a matter of chance. Anyone in the world with a credit card can have their own triple max of whatever uvs they want.
I'm able to take some small satisfaction that i was able to reach my goal and be the best UV'd knight on the game before the patch came out. It's still something of an accomplishment given how many players their are, and how hard i had to UV grind for it. It's neat having led an MMO in something like that, i would have never thought i could do it until i did <3
P.S. I thought kennys-knight had a triple max within the 1st 2 hours of UV lock station?
Its all about costumes isnt it pawn :D
edit: I dont think so, I would know by now.
Think of it this way: your achievement is like first-gen rose regalia. This is like second-gen. :P
Still awesome.
You and Rommil will always be my measuring stick. Not for your gear or accessories, but from your general intellect and friendliness. I remember having a great conversation with Rommil about books, long before I knew who he was, and how much CR/CE he had accumulated. You guys are good people.
Why did I have to look? I knew what was coming and yet, I still had to look
at the picture . . . Now I must go and cry over my epic poorness :(
/cry
Perronius speaks the truth. My friends list is once again due for a rehaul, and you guys are at the very top of my "To Keep"-list.
Of course a Jempire member would get the triple max first.
Rich kids. >.>
Of course a Wolver clone line gets the first triple max uv.
Clones. *twitch*
But yeah, congrats. Now go make some triple max weaponry for us? Would love to see how those damage calculations go.
Wow, that kid could have bought a nice pair of shoes or some textbooks with the money he spent making CE purchases towards making that triple max. There's a difference between supporting the game and wasting a ridiculous amount of your real money just to get an edge on a video game. Whatever I guess, it's the kid's money he do what he wants with it.
Partypooper alert.
In any case, who sad he actually spent anything on it? Could've been an insanely lucky craft, could've been an insanely lucky first roll, could've been a few locks here and there, but nowhere has he actually SAID he spent real money to achieve this.
That said, who said he was a kid? He could be fifty for all we/you know.
It's dangerous making groundless assumptions on the internet. You could get raged at. /tuts
I'd list more variables and stuff that would further prove my point, and a few others that would show my displeasure at your somewhat unfounded irritation at Ky, but that would have some effects we'd both not want if you knew what they were.
EDIT: That said, where were you when there were people bragging about the hundreds of dollars they invested into SK JUST SO they could be 'elite'?
@Bacon-Strip: Haters gonna hate :P
Granted, it is theoretically true that he might indeed have obtained those UVs without resorting to real currency. But I'm afraid you fail to be realistic here. Do you honestly think that anyone could have gotten a triple max on a single item using CR garnered exclusively from runs or trading, despite the fact that the chances on getting even a SINGLE max on anything is highly unlikely? You also seem to forget that to roll additional UVs on an item that already has a desired UV on it, you still would have to pay the respective CR fee for the total number of UVs the item has, not just for the one you've added.
For instance, say you are aiming for a shadow max to go with your single pierce max, and it took you 8 tries (realistically speaking) to finally get that shadow max. 75k CR is the fee you'd pay to lock-in the pierce max and try for the shadow max, so 75k x 8 = 600k CR. Then you've decided to go for a third UV to go with the other two UVs. Another 8 rolls or so (275k CR x 8 rolls) would cost you 2,200,000 CR. Oh, and lets also factor in the first UV you originally had, the pierce max. Let's say luck shined your way and you got the pierce max with only 4 rolls, costing you 20k CR x 4 rolls = 160k CR. Adding all that up, you would have spent more or less 3 million CR in achieving that triple max on your Skolver Cap. If the CE/CR market ratio is about 6700 CR per 100 CE, you spent 44.7k CE total.
44.7k CE. My question to you is, can an entirely F2P player come up with that amount realistically without the stimulus (direct or indirect) of a real-money transaction? Also let's say the guy actually did come up with that amount, then why on earth would he/she nonchalantly blow it all on just a single Skolver cap?
Also, by all means please list all your "variables and stuff that would further prove [your] point". I would love to hear them and start a (hopefully) intelligent discussion :)
-Edit-
Having inspected Kyoshiro-Xz's gear long ago, the Skolver Cap isn't the only gear he/she has maxes on. In fact I recall him/her having a max on a Skolver Coat, and VHs on various weapons. So using your way of thinking, should we conclude that Kyorshiro-Xz is a very very lucky player? :)
@Courierii. Kyo is definetly not F2p. A while ago when I was in the Jempire guild, I recall her/him buying tons of Dragon wings energy packs just to get 1 of each. I'm pretty sure Kyo bought above 10 and thats already 35kce+ the dragon wings inside (that included shadow, divine, volc and prismatic) so thats almost 100kce just from 1 promo event.
erridunno dispels any thoughts of kyo being free to play.
But the thought that you couldn't make 44.7k ce in game w/o purchasing CE is laughably misguided.
You fail to see the point. Psycho only meant to point out that you were making conclusions based on assumptions, and if you read his post he did not make any conclusions himself.
Also, more importantly: who cares?
I agree with that post. It's very very possible to turn a month's worth of CR into a nice profit. For example...
Buy Sprinkle aura for 5k CE > Sell for market value > ??? > Profit!
(nah, not really. The best chance of make-quick-money is a lucky craft)
Tom said it.
Also, the Jempire is a pretty old Guild. I'm not sure how long Ky's been playing, but that may well have been enough time to get to 5*, then stockpile cr like crazy, more so possible seeing how he's P2P.
Nobody said he had to buy all the currency he used to roll those UV's on the spot. The cost may have been buffered, if not put aside entirely by existing cr. And he may have been rolling triple UVs all the time instead of one, then deciding to add another etc. I wouldn't know really, I don't use Punch's services.
Answering your question of why: Boredom? There's only so much to do when you finish the game.
In any case, I back Tom's conclusion.
Concerning all of you and your posts on this I can assure you Peacemaker I didn't use no expensive cash and @ erri who says I bought them all with cash you can buy packs with ce 2 psycho ty for your support as for my triple max I merch a lot of items as past transactions have made me 50kce alone from a single item and alt crafts do build up money now if you're upset how I can make money and stay f2p is not my concern nor problem I will not deny I have maybe invested around $100 or so but that was my first month of playing a year ago during the xmas promo which I was told was very good. You people could ask xair yourselfs as she knew how many items I would have her sell for me or the advice we would trade while we both merched. As for the triple max it was also sold to mbcs recently so grats for him and that made me 120kce pretty much so if you were to see that ce i would assume you haters would auto think OMG EPIC CREDIT CARD but no learn to play and you can make money yourself. Also scumbag canozo stalking me now o.o
Why is paying the developers wages so evil? If he were to do something constructive with his time instead of playing Spiral Knights, and sell what he does for money, does that make him evil also?
EDIT: Didn't see the necro
after 400 000$ of investment, hopefully , it would have been worth the waste, for 12 seconds
So thats why Kryo doesnt die when I hit him with my combuster.
i repeat I haven't had the cap for ages already it's been passed down to Mbcsp also as for necroing it's a long story how i found this xD lol total accident though :3
That is the most disgustingly awesome thing I have ever seen.
I do still own another triple max piece and it's my coat what uvs does it have on them you will never know :D

p.s. But i already seen someone with a 3 max Divine Avenger. Undead Max. CTR Max and something else Max.
Im sure it was Rubyeclipse or someone else who had the 1st triple max?
It was me who got the First triple Max ruby was 2nd =) feel free to ask Ruby himself.
Ah okay. Wait wait what about kenny's-knight? I think it was him or someone else in the guild Knightmare who had the first tiple max. (still confused)
I repeat I had mine before anyone in the game there are screens in the Jemsite about it and how I even hid it from publick for 2 weeks due to wanting ruby to see it before anyone else as for how much it cost excatly i can't say i remember
I know a guy named Love-Machine, he's got a triple max on .. (vog?!) he claims to be first :P
I believe one of dem UVs is curse max or something.
Could care less I'm leaving this thread now everyone who is anyone knows I was first all there is to it.
No you just were the first that had a big enough epeen to need to show the world you got it. I personnaly know off two people (one is german and the other one is french) who had triple maxes like the very same day the UV locking was out. The difference is they're not bragging about virtual stuff, one of them even never put inspect on, he only did it because I was his closest friend and I begged him to see the item. I might still have a screenie somewhere, gotta check. Unfortunately those two veterans left the game, like an old french saying goes, "the better ones often are the first to leave", the braggers remain, endlessly looking for glory.
"anyone knows I was first all there is to it."
What a showoff :P
Well played sir, well played.
Skolver head.....
/hungry
Yes, if you've ever played T3 LD with me, you'll know that it's my life's goal to eat every Skolver cap(errr head) out there. Yours looks particularly yummy....
/e is thirty for the red Skolver water!
That feeling when i havent even seen a single max item :l
This is insane.
Can't say I have a triple max, but I've got two that are close-ish.
-Justifier Jacket (Shock Max! + Freeze Max! + Elemental High)
-Snarbolax Cap (Pierce Max! + Curse Max!)
das about it
/clap Canozo.
