I've been playing since Penny Arcade posted an article on one of their comics about Spiral Knights. I've loved every minute of it too. You guys did a great job in hitting certain spots in me that make me happy (Perfectly cleaning out every level, lots of materials and crafting to play with, good looking outfits that I can show off without using their stats). Over the past couple of weeks though, I've been catching myself thinking of the same things over and over, and wanted to express them. I place this in the suggestions forum because, while not all of my thoughts contain suggestions, most of them do.

The first thing that boggled me was shields. When hovering over your gear stats (Hovering over the head in the bottom left in your character window), I kept asking myself why don't my shield stats show up? As I was putting this post together, I checked the wiki a moment and realized that it doesn't add to your stats, but instead helps against certain things more when shielding. If there was something in the game that explained that, or somehow make it more obvious, I know I would appreciate it. Perhaps while hovering over your full stats, an extra bubble pops up to the right with your shield stats (That specifically says "While shielding").

Why do bombs fizzle? While they have the great potential for AoE damage, we pay for this damage with the charge up time. If we are not at full charge, we do not plant a bomb. So then, why is it that periodically my bomb just fizzle out? I have been going down the Blast bomb line, and found that the super and the master both will periodically fizzle out (Never realized it with the basic blast bomb). I've tested it out in single player, multiplayer, and in various levels and locations. I haven't found a rhyme or reason for it. I just know I pay enough of a price running around defenseless in the middle of a dozen monsters holding a bomb above my head waiting for it to charge as the previous bomb ticks down to detonation. I shouldn't need to pay the price of my health because of a random chance to fizzle out.
Now, if this for story purposes, or supposed to happen in game, then let people know! I would fully understand that mechanical things don't always work perfectly, but as I said, let people know. I probably wouldn't have picked up this bomb line (Blast bombs) so strongly had I known of this chance.

I'm kinda lost in what to do. I've just recently hit T3, and the progress area is now half of what it was. I'm no longer given a direction, a purpose to move forward. So, I gave myself one. I wanted to see the core. I mentioned this in guild and someone responded "Oh hey! I'm at depth 26. Just give me a bit and I'll invite you in." A half hour later the goal I set for myself was achieved and I once again had no where to go. Sure I could try and get my weapons and armor to 5*, find and learn all crafting recipes, and become a tycoon in the game. But, all those require myself giving me a goal. There is nothing left in game. I'd highly recommend after achieving T3, you continue to give progress quests. They could range from getting to a certain level in a zone, crafting certain items, or killing various bosses/rare monsters. I don't have a clue how you would reward or balance something like that, so I'll leave the rest up to others. All I know is that if there isn't something to work for, some sort of goal, it's not going to hold my interest much longer.

Lastly, I want to send a huge thank you to OOO as well for making the pay side of the game worth it. So many games out there ask for a dollar per 10 points, or a dollar for 100 points and they don't go very far. But with spiral knights, after 75 cents, I can run up to 20 dungeon levels! That is a huge return for the small investment, and it really means a lot to me.

The T3 goal right now is Vanaduke. His levels are pretty fun (well, I think so).
I recall a programmer saying they definitely have more bosses planned in the future. And maybe even the core will open.

Bosses give clear goals

Reaching the Core isn't really the hardest part of Tier 3. Beating Vanaduke is and, thanks to tokens, we have a reason to do so a bunch of times to get the unique items available with almirian tokens. The same is true for the Royal Jelly in Tier 2. He's tougher than merely completing the tier - much tougher.

I'd guess OOO is going to add more bosses down the road, but for now getting the special items from those two bosses should keep you busy for a while.
