What if the artifact is the key to the core? It would make sense...the artifact was nowhere to be found after the fight with razwog. What if it IS the key to the core? Maybe the tortodrones were roaring around looking for the key to the core? The artifact!
Idea about the core and the artifact
Not the artifacts that u get after bosses. The artifact that's in the rescue camp mission.
it looks like a battery.
Maybe a battery that powers the core?
Or maybe Razwog stole the power from the rescue camp and absorbed it into the artifact.
The power in the artifact powers up the core for a few seconds and lets you get trough.
If the key to the core is the artifact, then how did Alpha Squad get in? Is there more then one Artifact?
I have a feeling that the swarm will be involved
The alpha squad found the artifact and used it to open the core.
then they somehow lost the artifact and it somehow ended up in rescue camp.
Remember that Nick says that this new patch contains stuff that is part of the major story.
It probably is the key to the core.
Rhendon was probably assigned to the rescue camp for his inability to locate the core key, and he remains there to continually try and fail to get it.
Don't know where all the Razwogs come from, though.
They're all part of a punk scorcher gang, and they all decided to go by the name Razwog.
It's hard to think that such important key was only protected by a couple of rusted robots and a crazy gremlin, almost right at surface level and why did he wait until knights appeared to deliver it.
I do believe it's a piece of an even bigger puzzle.
Come to think of it, it could've been a data matrix of somekind...maybe it contained the means to interact with the Core? A key perhaps, or rather, maybe a hint to what's actually inside the darn thing.
If there's anything that the Echo Stones tell us, it's that there's something bigger going on within the depths of Cradle. There's something down there -- Something that the Swarm seems pretty attracted to. The Gremlins seem rather keen on it, as well.
The artifact was a golden octahedron before it was released. Not sure if this is relevant.
It's the SK version of the Amulet of Yendor, and I'm sure we'll all get it when we descend to depth 40.
It DOES kind of look like it is symbolising the gates in the arcade, with the squares on it representing the stratums.
it is a data chip you access it and then you learn all the secrets of cradle
btw, does anyone have a clue of where rhendon goes when you reach haven?
It certainly does look like it would fit into something, but I don't think it's something that would automatically open the core, especialy with how complex this thing looks. Maybe some kind of mechanism that is a part of a much larger machine, or at least something related to the core. That, and Razwog seemed knowledgable to a degree about it and that it held some kind of power, but what this 'power', we'll just have to wait and see. I am, however, intrigued by the many symbols that rotate all around; if it is a key, why would it have these. Why are they rotating, and what are they for?
I definitely look forward to seeing what this is all about.
For all we know that artifact isn't the only one like it. There could be more. The view of the core (call me crazy if you want) sort of looks like there are buttons on the corners, and a closed mouth in the middle. Maybe the artifact(s) open that by pushing the buttons? Heck, that artifact could even be tinkinzars royal dinner.
Jk, but it does look like the stratum towers in the arcade, yes.
When I opened this topic up it seemed a bit off just like all the other mindless users posting crazy core predictions/suggestions.
But this topic is a bit deeper than you expected it to be. Nick said that this new rescue camp mission was going to be connected to future updates. The only thing he could possibly mean is the Rahwog guy. I highly doubt it has anything to do with the artifacts since it has been with Spiral Knights from the beginning. Although the new mischievous character might have something to do with the core with Nick's clue.
I'm not saying your wrong or trying to offend you in any way but you opened up something that has been said already, so I felt to answer your questions/patch down your idea to a non-confusing topic, if that makes any sense.
Ok, just to clear things up...
I do NOT mean the artifacts left by the alpha squad that u find after every boss. I'm talking about the artifact that razwog took. the weird blue thing that you carry on your back. the one from the new crossing the chasm to haven mission.
a key or a computer chip cause it is fancy, has a handle, and has several nobs on the bottom of it
Well..
If the core is accessible through missions it would have mean you have all the artifacts needed to visit the core.
It would make sense if you needed all the artifacts in order to reach the clockworks version of the core.
In fact, I would like to see this implemented.
But I think we are jumping the gun just a bit here. xD
