Uhm. Am I the only one a bit appalled by how this behavior is spreading like a bad flu?
They release new content and it's so bad it gives us a reason to visit old content. Anyone see anything wrong with that?
"New arenas wooh!" .."Oh they suck.." "Well now more people in arcade! :D"
You may be the only one clinging to the idea that you MUST be able to get optimal farm from missions.
While it's nice to have the option of getting good farm from most of the missions, the fact that most of them have such poor farm (like all the T1's and the other T2 ones, and more than half the T3 ones since they are stratum 5) means it is not surprising that the ones that are easier to farm have been nerfed.
I doubt you'd have complained much if rise or fall's arena and the others in the missions were exactly as they are now.
Missions are missions, they serve a different purpose. I would say they are meant to:
a) tell a story and
b) force a new player to be exposed to new and harder content, giving them an pre-defined goals, allowing them to experience the game longer and have a greater potential of becoming a regular player (and buy ce, or spend more of it so others buy).
When they finish the missions, they have access to two more farm-friendly missions, The Gauntlet and King of Ashes...
My guess is the data showed that many new played rise or fall far too frequently, at the expense of not trying the arcade or moving onto the next set of missions.
it's been a while, and i forgot how much fun it can be. This lack of new content has also started me running with more PUGs for a challenge, instead of people who's gameplay style i know by heart.
It was nice to earn over 10k crowns on a run. did 11 - 23, and had a good time.
People go where profit is, the only thing they find fun is LD PvP where they only care for high damage & then making the other team feel bad for losing & how bad they were & should quit SK for being a failed player.
I played one of the new arena missions (the one in rank 8).
It was entertaining, really. The turrets actually fire at monsters if you find yourself running backwards to the camps lol.
I'm assuming the rest of the arena missions are also kind of like that? Stepping back a bit, their mindset could really have just been "let's make this fit with the campaign" for the arenas, and "let's make the RJP payout more like the RT mission payout" (not "hahaha we'll nerf this so they go back to the arcade"). As part of the story campaign, it'd make sense they'd change those arena missions to fit them in 'with the story'.
It's the players that attach the whole mindset of "ARENA! MONEYMONEYMONEY LOOP IT etc". People just make it out to mean that they're trying to encourage arcade play because their old counterparts may be more profitable.
Will it encourage people to play the arcade more? Probably not. Having lockboxes only come from arcade obviously wasn't enough, since the prize wheel eventually got added to missions.
It's probably wishful thinking. I want people to play Arcade too.
