I always use escape on vana,
I always use escape on vana, so I can talk to my friends while waiting for that slowpoke vana to finally turn around and attack.
Either way, it is essential that you can use ESC talking to the mother sprite, because she loves to troll knights who are killing slags in the vicinity. I've also seen the ESC key used to save someone's life who accidentally walked into the fire walls at vana and a 4th person stepped on the button locking them in place.

She rushed straight into the shadow fire and died rather quickly with no chance to escape. >_<

The problem is, we've already read what the people say a hundred times now and we just want to get on with the level.
Maybe it's okay for the very first instance of a given speech box, but subsequent times need to be skippable.

Don't chat while FSC'ing. If you decide you have to, have a designated defender who is not chatting to fend off slags.
