If OOO wants people to do straight Arcade tier runs instead of farming bosses over and over, why not just give a cumulative crown bonus based on the number of levels descended in a single run?
I mean sure the recent patch said:
- Crown and heat payouts have received further balancing, most notably in the Royal Jelly Palace.
And it does _feel_ like a full tier 2 and 3 to Core run gives more crowns, but what about boosting the crown/heat drop rate if a knight has played from the Manor to the first crossroads, a second bonus from that crossroads to Emberlight, again to the second crossroads, etc.
Sounds like a good idea. I used to do arcade runs but found that doing just two levels (RJP) I would get more crowns than doing like 4-5 floors in the arcade (also taking into account the amount of CE spent doing the floors, and yes, they were T2 floors too), which I am sure everyone else noticed too, which is why many, if not everyone, now farms mission runs.
If they gave a bonus to crown and heat payout, that not only covers the cost of ME and CE, but is also profitable, especially a bonus that gets larger the more floors you complete and the deeper you go, you would find that the mission farming would stop very quickly, and more people would return to the arcade, because now there is a good incentive to do so! (to be perfectly honest, right now I don't really see any incentive to do arcade runs at the moment, because mission runs are more profitable at the moment, taking into account crowns earned and energy used).
Nerfing mission runs can only work up to a certain point imo, until players get too annoyed and quit out of frustration.
Great idea Tunher, hopefully either a GM or OOO will read posts like yours and take it into consideration!
