anyway I have some questions for people with exspierence
1: How do you set backgrounds or make them sit on a map like the bazaar or a dungeon
2: How do you add more spiral knights I am pretty sure I saw a picture off 2 spiral knights fighting together.
3: Are you able to add monsters as well like bosses or jellys
4: Can you show me what you guys made xD

Y u no tell him short cut? lay one tile and put the scale as big as you need. Laying tiles is far to boring.
1: Edit -> Preferences -> new environmental model -> Rsrc/world/skybox
2: same as above but rsrc/character/pc/model.dat or model_level.dat i don't think it makes a difference though
3: ditto, but rsrc/character/npc/monster

P.S. when taking shots, go on view and press grid, then do it again but clicking compass

Can someone give me step by step instuctions on how to properly install Spiral Spy for the steam version of SK?

you HAVE to HAVE steam for it to work.
Download it.
move it to steam folder: Steam/steamapps/common/spiral knights
Open it.
Scream that you can't get it to work/it's to hard and you don't understand how to use it.
Yeah I already had both to see if there were any diffrences and I use the steam one for spiral spy I tought it was possible on the non steam version tough.
One more thing.
Will it affect anything ingame? I read somewhere to make a copy of your SK files and and drop it there instead.
it wont effect anything some people were scared at first it might hacked your account or something or bank info you use to pay it has profen that it does nothing with your files so no changes in game ^^
it can ruin your game - but your knight will be fine - just uninstall it and re install it. Happy's tip is to copy your Rsrc folder into a new folder, and then move spira spy into it I THINK. if it doesn't work move spiral spy back to the spiral knights folder but still use your copied version. but everytime there is an update you have to delete the copy and make a new copy.
I use Client.
Basicly, download the directory, and put spiral spy in the folders. this allows it to work and access the RSRC.
Also, I once screwed up the Darkfang Thwacker's skin(it became grayscale) had to delete and reinstal the directory.
You can use it just fine on the non-Steam version. Most computers load Spiral Knights into [User]>AppData>LocalLow>spiral (although AppData is by default a hidden folder, so you may have to change your folder settings to see it). I leave my SpiralSpy in there even though when I switched to Windows 7, SK started installing in [User]>AppData>Roaming>Three Rings Design, and just copy the new stuff over when there are updates.
Instead of deleting the old copy when there are updates, just copy your entire SK folder (whichever one is the folder it installs in for you) and paste it into the folder you're using for SpiralSpy, then tell it to merge all folders. There will be a few conflicts where the files didn't change, but choose "Don't Copy" after clicking the button for "Do this for the next X conflicts" and it'll add your files automatically.

Certain actions in Spiral Spy may muck up actual game, by doing this
you avoid touching the real game. If you already went ahead without
reading this and accidentaly broke the real game best solution is to
uninstall and reinstall Spiral Knights, your character will be safe
so its fine."
You can find the answers to most of your questions in here. You might have to get your fingers a bit dirty searching for them but you also get to see the journeys of the masters and their works.
