Random Number God has a wicked sense of humor...

I made a Spike Shower last night, and heated it to level 5. Today's prestige mission is Nature of the Beast, so I decided to take it for a run, using Spike Shower only, with Mad+Volcanic Demo and Barbarous Thorn Shield.
Wolvers and chromalisks? Great! They died easily once they entered my blast radius since they couldn't get back up.
Menders? Easy, while their shields took a while to break, I could out damage their healing spells easily.
Then four Lumbers showed up.

My Spike Shower has UV Constructs Low, combined with BTS it's Constructs High. And hey, it's my pride on the line here. I either tough it out or eat my own words.
It took me ages to kill them... even with the UV, piercing damage is useless vs constructs (42 dmg a shot), and lumbers have pretty healthy HP bars.
Got any wicked RNG moments you want to share? :)

Brought only piercing weapons (Antigua, Swift Flourish) to a fiend level. First enemy I see? Jelly cube.
*Takes out Mecha Knight Kit*
Mecha Knight dies in four seconds.

T2 Basil didn't give Lightning Capacitor recipe for weeks.
Bought it from AH in the end.
First T3 Basil run afterward: Voltaic Tempest

I was once using this alt (Halandin), which is 2*, on a tier 2 level that was beast or gremlins, with wolver cap, magic cloak, bristling buckler, snarble barb, and prismatech alchemer (2*). I went into a danger room and it was constructs. -_- Took soooo long trying to kill mechaknights, scuttlebots, and retrodes with a 2* alchmer, and without a sword that was good for anything but knockback. I always take a normal damage sword now.

Even wolver dens have either a group of lumbers or some polyps (both pierce resistant).

I was in a lightning-themed strata in a jelly level, so we brought all our shadow weapons.
We did a danger room because we were awesome.
Danger room was fiend+undead.
maaaaaan.

Lol
Thats why I always either bring my WHB, or a random elemental/shadow gun.... because I died to polyps one time while wielding a piercing sword and a callahan XD
And I've done several danger rooms that've eaten my lunch as well due to my lack of that weapon type...
But not recently. Now I almost always bring something that'll work, or that makes no sense but will kill that one enemy. 2 weapon slots ftw.
BTS only offers sword damage bonus. And I don't see how this has anything to do with random numbers, lumbers are not an unusual encounter in beast levels. By bringing only one weapon that doesn't deal normal damage, you should have expected something like this.
