Not to name any names here, but I was going to do a Jelly King run when a knight in full Dread Skelly armor, helmet, and shield joined in with us.
The only weapons he had were an Ash of Agni, Voltaic Tempest, Venom Veiler, and Stagger Storm, all buffed with two Elite Boom Focus trinkets.

Sure, he laid out a bunch of statuses, but his armor was so poorly equipped for the situation that he needed to revive himself at least 5 times through all 3 floors, due to his refusal to block 90% of the time. He must have been getting pissed off at some of us for knocking the enemies out of the range of the bombs considering he had no other method of attacking.

I had no idea what he was thinking. One of the other people in my party asked me to kick him out for being useless, but he ended up doing well to posion the JK several times enough to finish the fight in two minutes. He never spoke to any of us about what he was trying to accomplish being a status-only fighter.

Do you think I'm being too harsh on this guy, or is it an interesting choice of fighting?

His armor choice was dumb. But a status set is perfect and far from being useless. Thats what i do, with Volcanic Demo. Funnier than anything else.

@DukePlatypus

Well, if I was able to see the names of his weapons and his trinkets you can basically conclude he had Full Inspect on.
No, it was not a costume.

Yeah, bad question,

Yeah, bad question, sorry.
Well at least he had Boom Focus trinkets on to go with the mist bombs, so I guess all is not lost.

Him being status-only in

Him being status-only in Jelly palace makes me wonder.
You'd think he was ready to play main bomber in gauntlet.

Coatl beat me to this

He would have pretty useful in the gauntlet, especially in the second section where there are freeze-themed fiends and undead.

Did he have CTR UV on the

Did he have CTR UV on the bombs? Otherwise, that's totally wierd to boost the damage on mist bombs but not the CTR. Because the damage only applies to when they go off, and that's a very small radius...

As far as doing alchemy only bombs though, that's my favorite way to go through RJP now! Even better when there's a second status bomber with me. Voltaic Tempest, Ash of Agni, and Venom Veiler make quick hash of all the jellies, espeically if someone else is boring and deals damage to them! So that isn't what strikes me strange. What strikes me strange is that his armor and trinkets don't provide RJP protection, and also do nothing for his hazing! Odd.

@Aquajag

OP states that the player had a pair of Elite Bomb Focus Modules. That's CTR max on level 10 bombs.

well I tottaly dont agree

well I tottaly dont agree with the armor choise and he probarly should stay behind you guys. So he didnt have to revive him self every time or he needed to trade one off his bomb for a sword. And he probarly should learn to block it could save him some energy for reviving

Wait, he *revived himself*?

That's the biggest problem right there. It's a mark of incompetence; had he been competent, I'm sure he'd have been fine even in that inappropriate armour. It's only RJP, geez. Running it in 5* Skelly is like running it in 3* Plate.

sounds like a P2P

No offense to P2P.
I have seen a couple people who look like e experienced, strong players.
But then you do a JK run with them and they're constantly reving themselves with energy even though you could have revived them.
Some people just think they can buy themselves to the top.

lol

First lol; JK is such a chill run that any 5* armor should be just fine for a no falls run.

It could sort of almost make sense if he was heating the Skelly set, but would make more sense to heat 1 piece at a time (unless that was his best fully heated armor or something).

I used to run JK in full Vog (sure I'm not alone here) and Vog is no more defensively useful in RJP then Dread Skelly is (though of course the sword buff makes it more reasonable). It was also no problem (also usually with a Swiftstrike Buckler, 3*).

There is no reason to wear

There is no reason to wear bomber armor if all you are going to do is status bomb. Damage bonus on status bomb's is essentially useless since it's blast radius is so tiny. Personally, I consider that damage a bonus, not a regular aspect of those bombs.

Also, what armor you wear in RJP is essentially pointless (if it is 5*). Most monsters will do normal, some pierce, and some elemental. Yea, shadow is completely pointless, but in T2 who cares. Not saying I haven't died in RJP in 5* gear, but in a party of 2 or more you should easily make it through without a CE rev.

As for only having mist bombs, it is a good loadout with a competent team. Just drop AoA and VT everywhere and things die fast. The only really sad part is that he revived himself so many times.

Jk is easy, although

Jk is easy, although sometimes due to lag/laziness even I mess it up. Same goes for FSC and all other runs.

I actually have a harder time

I actually have a harder time in JK than in FSC.
Not saying I die but those jellies are pretty unpredictable unlike slags. >.>
