Dear OOO, you have a community of dedicated players with awesome suggestions, why won't you tell us what you think!?

Seriously, it's as simple as putting comments that say "not considered", "Considered and in the next patch" or "Work in progress" (or something along those lines).
Some games have dev's who really listen to their players (like Guild wars 2) and always like feedback and suggestions.
My friend (who's more of a gamer than I am) also told me about this other game that had a system for labeling suggestions as "not considered", "Considered and in the next patch" or "Work in progress" in the forums. It's so simple!
But seriously, being worried about crown sinks, losing money for OOO and things not being balanced should be left up to the devs. However, we have veteran players answering to the bad/repeated suggestions while OOO sit back, stay silent and make it seem like the content in the next patch is a mystery.
I don't mean to be mean it's just, be a little more active please? Instead of just posting in things that ARE in the works or you just take a fancy to.
If you want to build a bigger, better and (maybe) more loyal community (who is nice to everyone), then maybe take heed to our suggestions.
EDIT: 14.5.12
I know the spiral knights is still young but, I don't think that should be an excuse. It doesn't mean that they can mirror the great successes of other games such as Guild wars 2 who's devs listen to the players suggestions.
I really am just asking for someone to say "oh yeh, i like this idea" or "oh no, we are never gonna have this in the game so don't suggest it again". That's it. I'm quite passionate about my own suggestion thread and even if other players agree with me, I still wonder if my words have really fallen on deaf ears. All they have to do is read through the OP and decide yes, no or maybe and tell us. Simple. Atleast we have some idea whether or not our suggestions are worth arguing.

I wouldn't entirely agree with individual suggestion updates, but a dev-blog of some sort would be perfect.

Im going to assume(which is doing to make a donkey out of you and me) that the dev team is pretty small and busy with their other MMO games that they've made. So unless they hire one person to blogging for ONLY Spiral Knights, it probably won't happen a long time

Yes I agree with OP. The community would feel better if Three Rings explained the situation rather than just come out with hidden surprises.
To Three Rings:
Make another thread of the company's posts & their reply on the most heated spammed topic on the forums.

+1 yeah, I get annoyed that you never know if they care or not.

The dev team does read most of our suggestion post, however like Junecat said it’s a small team working on multiple projects, that’s why major updates take FOREVER, and the community is shrinking due to pure boredom and lack of patience’s. However, you do make a good point, major projects/updates/patches should NOT be a damn mystery. I would like to know what Spiral knights Dev team have in the works for us several months to a year in the future. I am really not too excited about Spiral knights anymore, because I do not know where this game is going.

Yeah, I liked it better somewhere around August I think where Nick posted upcoming features into the game here, this included content such as Lockdown and the Shadow Lairs.

I understand that it would be more work for them, but this is a great suggestion. That way we can have some more constructive criticism in the suggestion forum.

I agree but disagree OOO is a very small development team so they cant pour through every post and give feedback. Ive also noticed alot of the patches do relate to what the community has been complaining about/wanting. Either way you look at it, I do feel the devs should be more active in the conversation. remember guys this game is only a little over a year old.

Thanks for agreeing with my points

inb4 Asukalan posts saying if this were to happen, all suggestions would get marked "will be considered" which really means "we don't give a damn".

I partially agree but wut if they dont have any time to look at all the suggestions? Wut if they do look at them but dont really see any potential? It would be nice but dont get frustrated bover it.

Dear OOO, you have a community of dedicated players with awesome suggestions, why won't you tell us what you think!?
JENNYTHETURTLE? really now? I think that's reason enough why they don't.

I understand its a small team but as players we are constantly Left in the dark. We have nothing to get us excited or even a reason to stay patient. One of my major problems with this game is the lack of information. Too many things are left up in the air and I don't think that's fair to us as costumers and players.

@ Tom-awsm
thanks for your support
and, if they really don't give a damn, the they wont mind losing players at a regular basis wont they :)
@ Angelfire
If they wanna keep players they will make the time, it's a business and I know there are long term players of this game who arent just gonna ditch it overnight and are P2P
@ Kitty-softpaws
um, what's the reason enough why they don't? Because they have dedicated players with awesome suggestions and we're not allowed to know anything until it happens?
@ Hollafamer
Exactly, we are CUSTOMERS. We only buy a product because we know what it can give us. But, what is OOO going to give us? If I get to all 5* equipment, I may end up getting bored :/ and I'm guessing that's why some players are leaving
I was really happy with the last patch. The added room in haven for quiet conversations, the added knockback for the blaster line (though i already have a valiance and they better fix it! I would rather keep that knockback then the new charge attack no matter what it looks like) and made the game easier (a bit of a i dont mind with that but the game will lose it's fun if it gets easier). But, we want to know what's going on? People are even posting pictures. If Nick or any of the GMs are able to comment on ANY thread, they will have the time to shift through the REALLY GOOD suggestions. Anyway, the veteran players/forum regulars will eat up the bad suggestions. So OOO already have half the work done for them.

These devs are always reading the forums I found that out in Beta, and if you follow their twitter and Facebook pages they are always posting links from threads they like on the forums. As far as suggestions go, the reason I got told awhile back is they don't post on the suggestion area on the forums is all because if they say they like x suggestion people expect that suggestion to play out just the way it was posted. These dev's did do a lot of listening to the players not on every little aspect, but (Ah Suggestion, Accessories, Pets, Mini-Games, Buff's and Debuffs of weapons, a mission style system, improving heat amps, stacking certain amplifiers, creating heat amps, and much more).
Now, many of you always post omg this game is horrible devs don't care, or whatever negative thought thinking this game is going to die, but I'm sorry to inform you guys it won't. People, already said the binding update was the last straw, and due to that they won't even support this game (Magnus, Chris, Biznasty, etc.), but low-and-behold these players are still playing Spiral Knights, and you can't focus your ideas of one or two "Great" or "Rich" players leaving this game. This company focuses more on #'s not on only a 5% of its gamers. Steam alone shows that over 2k+ kids play Spiral Knights (Current players online), and then you don't have a direct # of players playing from other clients, so I'm sorry lets give or take 4k+ players playing prime-time hours is not back.
Nick, does make a post every month or so telling us what is under development, and we also have been given a testing server which is open to us certain times to test out the new features.
Summary:
1. Devs are always reading the forums
2. Devs do read our suggestions and implement them in their own ways.
3. We do receive feedback at times on future updates.
4. Dev's/Gamemasters do help with feedback on major bug reports n stuff as well.
5. They Tweet and put up on Facebook (From what I'm told) funny things about Sk all the time as well.
To add, when players are posting all these "veterans players" are quitting I do have to disagree since I saw at least 5+ players who re-joined this game who were part of some of the first testing in this game. This game will survive on new players not veterans regardless. Word of mouth marketing is the best, and I have to be ho

ok thanks Njthug that kinda does soften me a bit but, don't listen to what your told about the facebook page, they post very little on there. All the times = 3 times a week.
but it's just the fact that the feedback doesn't seem regular enough.

I had a thread about this in suggestions a while back, I just forget where it went.

Their Twitter is a bit more active, and they also ask for your feedback as well.

they are a fairly small team, and i believe that they just dont have the capacity to "do everything" right now. ive been a little skittish around the suggestions lately, im afraid that we might be pushing expectations a little too far. just give them time, im eager for the next update thats in development right now, though its been taking a while. i hope its worth the wait...

3 times a week isn't bad. I personally don't like FB that much & have only made one due to a certain reason & not because of my personal choice. Well kind of but still, I rarely go on FB. EXCUSE THREE RINGS FOR NOT BEING A HIPSTER & UPDATING THEIR WALL EVERY 2 HOURS, JEEZ.
& yeah, WHY SHOULD THREE RINGS ACKNOWLEDGE PLAYERS WITH SILLY NAMES?!? MM? HONESTLY NOW, IF SOMEONE HAS THE NAME "Tairy-Hesticles", DO YOU THINK THREE RINGS WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THEM/SHOULD?? MMMM??

If a Dev said it sucked, people will be like anything of this idea sucked and with them liking it, then that person will get hyped over thinking that he will get his idea implemented.

i agree with Jennytheturtle, devs should make themselves known a little more in the forums. and im comparing this to another least known game, BeGone. the devs (only 2!) have the time to answer players suggestions, and they gives us a direct answer like never, maybe, already considered this, etc or if your really rude they ban you! Mwhahaha. but the thing is theres only 2 developers who make the f2p on their spare time. (this isnt their full time job like you-know-who) yet they have time to answer to their player's wishes! i mean cmon! OOO is a group of people, not just 2 who doesnt even get paid, so the devs, moderators, even game master should at least try to be more informative regarding the suggestion threads.

Not sure about devs, but GMs read forum at least.
I just got a warning for using a certain word in a topic that was last time active 11 days ago. Also that topic was on 10th page of General Discussion. GMs do read forums... not sure about devs.

I would like it if the devs were to check on the suggestions forum once in a while, and were to do more foruming. They don't need to spend that long to do it either. I'd love to know what they think of my posts, I spend a good deal of time writing them.

really? Do I have a funny name?

I support this.
I have to wonder, though, would it considered "unprofessional" if the devs were to engage the forum members in conversation about player-made ideas? This question is indeed ethically provocative.

Except the devs have in fact talked in suggestions before- proving that every blue moon Nick goes- "TO THE SUGGESTIONS FORUM!!!", and legitimately talks to us/comments and then leaves without answering the follow up remark on his comment. Well, sometimes they get those. I digress.

I know nick has but I want to see that for EVERY SINGLE SUGGESTION that the forum regulars/veterans havent already picked apart.

"EVERY SINGLE SUGGESTION" This is MAD, sir.

Why should they waste man hours pointlessly posting on everything in the suggestions forum?
Have you even seen that forum? I'm surprised they bother to keep it there as it is.
I mean really, there's nothing to say that just because you've suggested it and it appears in the game in a subsequent patch that it's because of your suggestion.

Not really, Asuka. Read the rest of the sentence.
" that the forum regulars/veterans havent already picked apart."
That encompasses about 75~90% of Suggestions posts. Since about 50% of them are Pets, 15% are about removing the CE market, 10% on "Re-balancing LD", and the rest are usually unbalanced. Sure, I made these numbers up, but you get my point.
For Devs to respond on anything that hasn't been "picked apart" by suggestions forum-goers, they'd have to respond to like...5 topics a week.
~Sev

Exactly
Read properly!!! I make reasonable arguments. Not over demanding ones.

their reply on the most heated spammed topic on the forums.
Meaning a flood of similar topics posted on suggestions.

well then people should not be silly enough to make new threads when they can post on a thread that has a similar topic.
Like how I put my ideas for the lockdown waiting list and lockdown training hall in the same thread instead of making a new thread.

If you saw the complaint riots just a few weeks ago on General Discussion, that pretty much applies to the reason why I even suggested the post above you turtlegirljenny ¬¬

well there will always be complainers because we know how to look at the negative more than appreciating the positive

agreed, nobody shoud be left in a dark well, alone (except the children and my fork).

I read.
I agree, to a certain extent.
I decided to post... Man... I need to stop this.... STOP!.... WHY!!!!!?!?!?!?!?
*cough* Anyway, in all seriousness I see whut you're getting at ther.... (/ashamed of saying that).
And like I said I agree to a certain extent, now I personally would like to see them more active, I mean, that would be VERY nice :) But I also am in the mindset that although they could easily goooooooooooo..... *dropeverything!* and come have a looksie (I don't mean put stuff off just... Y'know in their spare time) and then post, I don't expect it.
I have been around the block a few times (Meaning, forums, FB and Twitter x)) and I see them being quiet active, as you put NOT as active as you would like but still... Active, in my opinion. And I find out about most of the new things :D I mean sure they don't talk about some things, which I wouldn't expect/want them to either, whut? I like a little surprise, but not yet have I been disapointed by any release. I probably missed some stuff in the break I took last year... but whatevs.
Although you are partly correct, to say we are in the dark is silly, dimness? Perhaps, but not dark.
And hey, the forums are a busy place, I am only able to keep up with the General Discussions (Mostly) because I have a lot of spare time, I would hope the Devs are doing what they're hired to do and actually work on the game with their time, and relaxing outside of the workplace.
Again, I partially agree, but I wouldn't want to know about EVERYTHING, gimme a little surprise pl0x! x)
Don't know if I made sense, I hardly do but... /shrug
~The Mighty Cheese Knight; WeeGee

Yes I do agree with you, though something like the last announcements was perfect for me. Nick gave us an overall idea of what they're all working on ad that is the least I want. Just to tease and tingle our senses rather than just saying nothing and waiting till the patch to know what's going to happen.
I'd like to see more "What's in Development-(Insert Month)"
