....just to quickly demonstrate to yourself just how vastly sellers outnumber buyers on the material market at any given time, offer to buy any material at all (relatively ordinary ones work best, but I think even 4* and even some 5* things would work) in trade chat.

The chat window just about exploded out of my screen (already overflowing from being in the trade channel at all) when I posed a "WTB" for meteor motes and unstable cores earlier.

Price
@Negima, when you want to know the price of something type in the trade window, "Price check Meteor mote". You may have to do it 2 or 3 times, but you'll get a few whispers letting you know how much people are paying recently. Also, someone may whisper to sale to you, and conceivably my not try and over charge if they saw you price checking.

Price Checking in this game is a really good way to get scammed in either direction.
Had some guy say 6k on a PC for Miracloth. I nearly choked to death, then went and bought several for 2k each.

Material prices...
All material prices are going to keep going down in value for a while yet, lots of original players are finishing up their 5* sets and have more materials they can 'safely' sell. Eventually the ratio of new and experienced players will more or less stabilize, but not yet, the game is still only a few weeks old, the market is still unstable.
Expect another big price drop when the auction house is released and lots of players that can't be bothered with chat selling start selling.

Agreed to slatecity. All prices are subjective, especially when you don't need a particular material. There's no underselling of something you supposedly got for free in a run. 30 or 3000 crowns, you still end earning some.

Doesn't work anymore
This doesn't even work anymore in my experience. The reason being that every time I'm on the trade channel is scrolling so fast that humans can't actually read anything that goes in there.
There may be 50 people out there who would like to respond to my WTB mats, but only 1 out of the 50 will be focusing on the chat window for the 1/5th of a second window my message is actually up there.
:-( They like you better than me, I had to use local chat trade earlier to buy a meteor mote. WTB Meteor Mote name price just wasn't working (didn't know a price for one and I was in a hurry yet didn't want to spend tokens)
