I don't know about you, but in my case my parents don't really like me playing video games so much, and they don't really care when they interrupt me.. So yesterday I was in vana just about to get to the court and my mom calls my name .. T-T ... I managed to kill the trojans but when I got back.. The fire puppys killed me >:l .. It happens im in the clockworks get called and the whole thing and adventure gets screwed up because my parents call me to go do something ._.

...So I was thinking.. My mom yelled at me once saying "Y CAN'T YOU PAWSE DA DAM GAME D:<" I said "Mum, this game won't let jeww ;_;" My whole clockwerk run got screwed up after going afk n stuffs. My character falls asleep and I get disconnected from the server like in a boss fight v.v ..

...With that being said. Why can't there be a "pause" or "afk" button? That only works when you are partying alone, and it freezes everything (won't let you heal, move, or do ANYTHING other than to unpause the game. There will be a " | | " like button in the middle of the screen covering not letting you touch any other button you can use in game.

... <: It would be really awesomesauce if this could happen, I wouldn't haveta worry about leaving for a bit with the game on or going with parents since I know that I won't get disconnected from the server :D

Discuss. What do you think about this ?

TL;DR : A button that lets you go "afk" without disconnecting you from the server, just makes your char stand sleep or sumthin

I am not going to address that this has been addressed before. Instead, I am going to address why this should not be implemented in a very brief rebuttal to your request.

This is an MMO game. This is not an offline server game where individual users play in their own world where they can pause time as they please because it has no effect on anyone else in any way. This is an MMO game. There is no pause option for this game because it runs on server based time, not independently on your own computer. This is an MMO game.

If your mother wants to know why there is no pause option for this game ask her why there is no pause button on reality.

This thread is nowhere near TL;DR. This would befit the action, but due to the nature of its content the paraphrasing would not make sense.

I wish the same thing, but this won't work. As he said, his parents don't care much about what he plays, and nor do mine care about what I am playing. But the solution is this: try to find a time where they would be calling you the least, and play then.

Some alternatives

1. Clean a room out before you AFK in it.

2. If the last enemy in a room is immobile, maneuver to a place where it can't hit you.

3. Put a rock on your Shield key so you don't get booted off.

ha ha i like the rock idea. i should try that sometime! but im still wondering. wont you still be disconnected if your just standing there with your shield and not moving? and you know your shiled will break. once i was in arena with my friends at his house and then we had ot eat dinner. went down, ate as fast as we could cuz we kinda knew what would happen but not really. we went back upstairs to find that we were disconnected due to idleness.

What if...

I know that it is absolutely impossible to 'pause' the MMO game. But this problem bothers me quite badly. So, I wonder if there could be one additional command/emote: "playdead" or something like that. I 'just assume' that it could be a command/an emote that give players a short while of being AFK, if it could be like a player is actually dead, the only difference is he/she doesn't have to be revived, that would be just great.

**Sorry if this is just one stupid idea, I just want this problem solved**

Many players will tell you that that is heavily abusable.

I kind of have to agree.

A dead body can block bullets from gun puppies and various other sources. Being able to do this at will makes it more exploitable.

If the idea itself is agreeable, then, the rest should depend on the other players' action, whether they will have the "playdead" player kicked, or to keep him/her. There surely is this kind of exploiting players, but on the other hand, there surely is the kind of players who really have to go AFK during the game...

A online game can't be paused due to the fact you can't pause RL.

You are connected to the server, need online. Can't pause ONLINE.
