This is my first Fan-fiction for Spiral Knights, I'll most surely make others soon, a series of short stories if you will. This follows the journey of my three Knights as they dwell into the Snarbolax's cave. Ninja for over the fifth time, with Clay and Soul on there first try out so... Yesh XD

~Journeys of Three Knights~
Snarbolax's Apple

“Don't worry Soul, I've defeated the Snarbolax at least three times!” Ninja-Of-Knight said reassuringly stepping onto the elevator that led to the Snarbolax's Lair. “We don't think it's going to be so bad do you Clay?” She inquired folding her arms and resting her chin on her hand while Leader-Of-Souls stayed put.
“Oh of course Miss.Knight, I'd follow you under command forever and ever if you'll say it'll be safe!” Clay-Of-Lances stated excitedly stepping onto the elevator. “And even if it wasn't safe and you got yourself hurt and even if you had enough energy I'd give you a whole half of my health! Even if I only had a single bar be-”
Ninja-Of-Knight rolled her eyes then put a hand on Soul's shoulder. “Okay then Soul you ready to go?” Soul touched her gun to make sure it was secure “Okay, just don't let those wolvers get their claws on me!” She said getting onto the elevator.
“Oh don't be silly Soul! It's the teeth you have to worry about!”
“Oh Miss.Knight your so smart! Isn't she smart Soul, huh?!”
And so the three proceeded down the elevator, to Soul it seemed an eternity of forever as they descended. I should trust Ninja more, after all she is my ranking officer... But I've never understood why we have to take the Snarbolax out in the first place. Ever since I've come to this planet things have been going wrong, at home it was so much easier... I shouldn't be thinking this, after all, heh Lance had such a harder time then me! Oh Lance, could you be more oblivious!? Or, is it just Ninja... Oh well... SKAAA-RRREEEEECH! “Ba-ah!” Soul said as she stumbled forward from surprise. Ninja-Of-Knight caught her shoulder and gave a good-natured giggled.
“Don't go over the edge there Soul.” She drew her sword and smiled “You two ready?”
Clay-Of-Lances checked for his bombs and nodded “Yes Miss.Knight!” He said running to the odd blue fence to wait for the two girls.
Ninja sighed and laid her hand on Soul's shoulder. “Oh come on Soul, it'll be fun. Besides all keep the monsters away from both of you, don't want you being hurt under my watch!” Soul looked at Ninja, the Knight had hardly been here longer then her and already she was such a high rank.
“Okay Ninja,” Soul said pulling out her gun. “Just keep a good watch on Lance, you know he really looks up to you.”
Ninja nodded and started into the battle field.“Okay Clay, Soul, lets beat this Snarbolax to the seventh tier!”
“Um, Miss.Knight, I thought their was only seven tiers,” Clay said as he placed a bomb down before running from a wolver that soon exploded along with the device.
“ Well,” Ninja said wiping soot from her boot , “it was a metaphor.” She swiftly shot around attacking another of the furry creatures with a quick cut that made it squeal. She finished it off as Soul did the same to an Gun Puppy.
“You okay Soul?” Ninja asked scouting out for more of the monsters before glancing back at her.
“Um y-yeah I-”
“Here you go Soul,” Clay said dropping his heal capsule then she took and used. “I doubt I need to use it any way, your going to keep us safe , isn't that right Ninja!”
Ninja nodded “Mhm! Now come on you slow-bots , we've got some battling to do!”
So the three young knights battled on through the thick mess of monsters, every once in a while Soul would feel the glare of eyes over her and near that time Ninja would always shout at them to pull up their shields. So, she had come to the assumption that the feeling was the eyes of the Snarbolax watching her.
“Hey um, Lance?” Soul asked nudging him with her elbow “Did you , um , feel it watching you also?” Soul looked around Soul could have sworn the Snarbolax had charged at her, Ninja-Of-Knight had let them have a little rest after they had killed those undead monsters but she was still unsettled.
“Huh? Oh yeah, it was so paralyzing!”
Soul giggled “That's because you were stunned.”
Lance blushed and swerved his foot around in the dirt “Well I just thought Ninja said something else is all... It's not like I'm slow or anything...”
“Oh I know that Lance.” Soul said looking at Ninja who motioned them over. The twosome got up and trod to their friend confusedly. “Onward?” asked Soul.
Ninja nodded “Mhm! Now a few crystal shards will be able for harvesting up here, but there's also a few Alpha Wolvers, no trouble if you keep your distance though.”
Lance blinked and looked up “It's so dark here... So- Um uhhh!”
Ninja turned around, “What is it Clay?”
“Where did Soul go?” He said looking around for his friend “She was just there , and then I looked up and now sh-”
“Calm down Clay,” Ninja said motioning with her hands forward “she'll show up at the elevator, we may have to wait a little but Leader-Of-Souls can handle herself, okay Clay?” She said so very unsure of herself.
“Yes Miss.Knight....” So the two battled onward , a bit slower now to keep an eye out for their lost friend, who although could beat ghosts to oblivion had very little skill in piercing the beasts of the darkening forest.

Soul shook herself feeling the energy shoot back through her carefully she looked back over herself before sitting up and checking about her surroundings. She gave a sigh of relief , she was still in the forest. I probably just powered down, I bet Ninja got me back up and running though. She stood up and looked about her, It isn't very familiar here though. Where did Lance and her go?
Soul quickly turned as snuffling sound reached her and screamed from the creature that loomed over her, it's heavy breath beating onto her face. The creature whined and started away quickly rearing up. “Oh,” she giggled and looked at the shadow ridden creature “well aren't you a cutie.” She walked up and pat its head. “Don't worry you scared me was all, you see my friends and I were looking for this Snarbolax, now I'm looking for my friends.”
She looked around and saw a golden bell in the middle of the area. “Hurm, did you bring me here?” The creature gave a curdling cry and leaped about happily. “Ha, you've got quiet a voice there sir! Well, why did you bring me here?”
It stopped for a moment , circling then nodding its head , the Snarbolax bounded as Soul in a familiar fashion an d gave her a great big lick on the helmet that sent her on her back. “Oph!” She smiled and reached a hand up toward it. “Aw! Your the Snarbolax aren't you, and you like me huh?” She got up and gave the shadowy figure a hug.
“I don't know why all those Knights are so afraid of you, your ever so cute! I think I'll call you Snare, because your charm is a huge trap!” Snare growled happily and pushed his head under Soul. “Okay big guy,” Soul said positioning herself on top of the creature. “Let's see if we can find my friends okay?” Snare was off like lightning through the forest , going so fast Leader-Of-Souls nearly fell off thrice and he almost phased through trees many more then she could count at such speed.

Clay-Of-Lances walked close behind Ninja-Of-Knight as they made there way carefully through the depth. “Miss.Knight, what's up ahead?” He asked trying to see over her shoulder frantickly.
Ninja took a sigh and turned to him “It's the Snarlbolax's battling area Clay, but it's not here.” Clay looked past her and shock was shown on his face as he looked at the vacant area , nothing but a bell was there.
“B-but Miss.Knight, the other gate's still closed, do you think that m-aybe the Snarbolax has Soul! Miss.Knight I don't want Soul to get hurt she's my friend Miss.Knight! Even if she got lost I'd be sad , and she it lost a-”
“Don't worry Clay,” Ninja sat down and looked at her belongings “The Snarbolax will have to come back eventually , and when he does we'll scavenge what we can of Leader-Of-Souls and bring her back with a good lot on energy! Easy see?” Lance nodded and rested his chin on his knees.
“I just hope she shows up in on piece.”

At first it was fun riding around on Snare, but now as the forest got even darker and she wearier the trip wasn't at all fun. “This is were I last saw them Snare,” she pouted putting her hand on the creature's head. “They wouldn't have gone back, it's impossible unless they had you there of course. That means they have to be up ahead a bit right Snare?”
Snare gave a growl and a nod. “Right! So we just need to follow up this trail to my friends and find them soon enough. Nothing hard to it, especially with you here. So-” She didn't finish her words as Snare began to trot idly on the path with Soul scouting out for her friends above. No monsters had come, Soul had noted, that meant Ninja had wiped them clean. She smiled at her friends efforts, she should have been more cooperative after all, Ninja was such a good Knight.
Clay coughed and looked up again he sighed and and looked over at Ninja. “Miss.Knight is it night above ground now? It's even darker here and so cold it could have ice monsters.”
Ninja shrugged and poked at the ground. “It probably is Clay. After all we've been here for nearly sixteen hours now.” Grass shuffled and Ninja was up like a fly unsheathing her sword and getting low for battle. Snare screamed and reared up, Ninja thought she heard someone awfully familiar.
“Miss.Knight Soul's on the monsters back!” Clay cried hiding behind her. Ninja got ready for a swing when Soul's voice shrieked out.
“Stop it you're scaring snare!!” Ninja jolted back and Soul slid down the monster's head afterward giving him a hug. Clay and Ninja stood dumbfounded watching their friend sooth the wild beast.
“Now , don't worry Snare, these are my friends, they were frightened for me was all.” The monster looked at the two then laid down watching them carefully. “Guys, this is my friend Snare, he is the Snarbolax , and, he is nice.”
Clay nodded and waved to the creature shaking and a false smile forced upon his face “Hi there, urmm Snare I'm Clay-Of-Lances , c-call me Lance.” Snare bounded up letting out a fierce roar that blew Lance back making him stay frozen for a while before scampering to his feet. Snare rubbed his head affectionately on Soul who giggled and gave him another hug.
“Hello Snare, my name is Ninja-Of-Knight, you can call me whatever it is you like.” The monster gave an acknowledging grunt to her then settled itself back down while Ninja motioned for Soul to come over.
“We'll be right over there Snare, I need to talk to my friends,” she said her voice smooth before she walked to the opposite side of the area. “So what is it Ninja?”
The Knight nearly leaped from anticipation “You Soul! You actually befriended a Snarbolax! Do you know of any Knights in the whole galaxy that have done that?! Of course not, because your the very first! What you've done is amazing Soul, it could help us get information on all sorts of monsters here!”
“Heh, gee thanks N-Miss.Knight but , see, Snarbolax kind befriended me. I didn't rea-”
“See Ninja I told you she was awful good at being modest didn't I!” Lance beamed proudly making Soul blush.
“You d-”
“You sure were right weren't you Clay! Now let's see...” Ninja said getting into her thinking mood “I know! We can have the monster unlock the gate for us like he does when defeated!”
“His name is Snare,” Soul stated.
“Oh right, you can have Snare open up the trap gate for us, it could help us see how traps are set up and ultimately the clockworks! Think of all the possibilities your gift can do to better us all Soul!” Ninja said excitedly clapping her hand's together.
“Uh o-okay I'll see-”
Ninja pushed her toward Snare “Oh great thank you soooo much Soul!” Snare looked up at Soul happily.
Soul took a gulp and knelt near the Snarbolax. “Hey Snare , do you think you could open up the gate for me and my friends? It would be really helpful to see for out mission to the core.” Snare gave a happy yip and stood near the gate as Ninja watched excitedly with Lance right behind her trying to gather as much enthusiasm.
The Snarbolax gave out the roar of pain used in defeat and the gate slid away with a groan. Ninja stood up her face perplex. “Oh I get it!” She said the token for defeating the Snarbolax falling from the sky as the area turned clear of smog. “The gates open when something triggers them to happening huh?” Snare gave a nod and Ninja smiled patting it. “You are kinda cute aren't cha! Well, come on then you Knights , we've got some getting home to do!”
Clay let a bomb open the boxes for him to grab the coins and heat while Ninja waited happily on the elevator ready to be getting on with it. Soul turned to Snare and gave him a peck. “Thank you Snare, I'll come visit I promise,” she said coming to the conclusion that some places in the clockworks weren't so bad. The Snarbolax roared and dug its face into the ground making Soul giggle as she ran towards the elevator.
“Away to Cradle!” The three Knights shouted as they spiraled up the depths to their current home , Haven, place of the Strangers.
