Sooo, what's the deal with the Omega Shell?

Ok, so this shield has pretty much the most-ish health and normal defense in the game, right? The thing I don't get, is that the 4 star version of the shield, is pretty much exactly the same, only it has a little less normal defense.

So getting to the point, why does a 5 star shield increase normal defense when pretty much nothing deals normal damage by the time you'd get it? Or is this another one of those cases where the equipment just isn't balanced?
>the equipment just isn't balanced?
Balanced as in what, every shield being the same?
>"so...what do you suggest?"
I was more looking for confirmation that the information I have is right, and less so shooting out suggestions that won't be heard or won't be implemented.
Having said that, more health than the 4 star one?
>"Balanced as in what, every shield being the same?"
No, as in from what I understand, there's no point in upgrading it. You know the owelite line of shields? They give you more defense vs elemental, and resists, yeah? What if they all gave the same amount.....throughout all the upgrades? You see what I'm trying to say?
EDIT:

There we go, that's what I wanted to hear......We need numbers at some point. Not only because of this vague nonsense, but for future tiers.
It's the strongest normal defense shield in the game with the highest health. That said, it's only really useful against normal damage. Sure it blocks other stuff too, but less so than other shields. The majority of enemies in the game deal normal damage though, even lord hotpants.

Thats about the only answer I can come up with. I only use the image as a general idea(type of damage, protection type, etc), I don't go by the bars though.
so...what do you suggest?
