The more you know...
You should also know that if you grab a heart, it will still be available for the other members of your party. I didn't know that when I first started, and I would often leave hearts for my teammates to pick up. :|
Materials are distributed randomly, so it doesn't matter who picks those up.

I use my Trap Card!
Only Vials are the only items that you can pick up, that nobody else can/will get (unless you give the vial to a teammate after).
A small exception: Vitapods, as they give you extra health until your max and allows teammates to take the leftover.
