And his shield isn't like a trojan's. It doesn't completely block damage from the front, and if you keep attacking you can cancel some of his attacks.
Arkus doesn't belong to any monster family, he's a completely separate mob type on his own. All attacks do normal damage to him (white numbers) so this gives you room to pick your favorite weapon when fighting him.
