This is the first fanfic that I have decided to write. It will cover nearly everything, including The Core, the knights (of course!), the Great Colony, The Swarm, Sanctuary and whatever I decided to add later. However, Arkus will not be in unless he could explain where did he get the energy to revive thousands of times everyday (do not reply on this bit, thx!)
I plan to write it quite large so it will be on for a long time. Since this is the first story I am writing, please be expected to spot grammatical errors as well as minor inconsistencies in the story.
Should be updated on every Saturday unless I cannot access the internet on that day.
Anyway, this story is now open for character applications! Feel free to post any characters you have below, with the details. If there are missing bits, I will fill them for you :3 However, there is still a basic format:
Name:
Gender and Age:
Loadout:
(Anything you wanna add)
DISCLAIMER: By submitting the character, you have admitted the right for the author to freely alter, pwn, kill, or make your character pwn anyone. You have also agreed that the author could put a sudden death to your character anytime, if it is needed by the story.
Finally, Wish me good luck everyone!
GL HF! (You could add "Vivid-Gluttony" in game to show your support, but I am relatively new... XD)
The prologue is out! I am quite sad to see that no one has responded, but I will continue!
Prologue
The elevator door opened and soft blue glow was spilt out from the elevator, lighting the gigantic but dusty platform for a brief moment before disappearing into the darkness.
A female figure emerged from the dim elevator, stepping out slowly as if she didn’t care about the darkness surrounding. Through the residue of the bright flash, others could only see her long, flowing hair in a nostalgic tone of deep blue, with matching
Suddenly, the dome lightened, revealing some other knights resting in the corners where light could not reach, either sleeping, polishing their weapons or weirdly, meditating.
And afloat in the middle of the colossal steal forged dome was a huge, metallic being known as the Core. The Core had no eyes, but he could see farer than anyone knight or being. The Core has no ears, but it could hear more sharply than any rabbits, bats or insects. The Core has no mouth, but it could speak in the most emotional and rational way, convincing nearly everyone.
The gentle yet deafening voice of the Core boomed. “So…finally you have decided to come? I guess you have known the truth, right?”
Without answering, the female figure continued her walk, pacing slowly towards the middle of the platform, the only place where dim sunlight could pass through the endless depths of the Clockworks.
“How about Kozma and Feron?” the Core continued to question this newcomer.
She continued walking until she reached the patch of sunlight. Holding it in her palms, she spoke for the first time she had descended here from Haven.
“Kozma refused, saying that he has his own mission…Feron…” she made an unintentional pause, as if gathering the old, fading memories. “Feron seems quite confused…”
The Core spoke. “Anyway, welcome to the Forseers, V…”
She lifted her right hand deliberately, gesturing a sign which means, “stop”.
The Core halted. Though the hand of the girl was nothing larger than that of a miniature doll in the sight of the Core, he could sense a strong sense of determination, coupled with…
Sadness and guilt.
She stared into the patch of light thousands of kilometers above as if she could see through all the barriers into Haven.
She stayed standing as if all feelings were numbed. Gradually all the other knights joined her staring blankly into the abyss above.
Vindy…
He wandered across the chilling cold streets of Haven aimlessly. The downtown streets were void of people, as everyone was either on the battlefield or warming themselves in their nice, cozy apartments.
He wandered across the emptiness of Haven searching. Everyone had departed from him. He was alone. Frightened. Hungry.
The raging winds brought snowflakes to his body. The snowflakes did nothing except for attaching onto his body for a brief moment, seizing his remaining ember of heat and then run from him, striding in the freezing air of winter but leaving him alone.
Alone……
He continued to wander through the coldness that existed both physically and spiritually. Then the light in his pupils began to wither, and his limbs trembling from the deadly coldness that is overtaking his mind and body.
His body stooped as the lethal cold further seized control of his life. Finally he collapsed in a quiet corner where no one would discover his death.
He gazed into the blank sky covered by clouds dimmer than the night. He was afraid.
Don’t…please don’t leave me here…I am…scared…
Sitting motionless in an unremembered corner, he was dying.
A claw of shadow approached from the back, inch by inch closing in, trying to claim the unfortunate victim once the last spark of life had left.
His blue pupils expanded and a shade of darkness overtook his bright eyes.
But then he saw light…true, divine light coming from above and raising a helping hand.
And failed to notice the slightest shade of darkness embedded in it.
