3* to 4* is the money spot
Generally the biggest and most noticeable boost in damage is between 3* and 4*. Crafting from 4* to 5* is normally about improving the bonuses of the weapon and not raw damage.

This sword may not be the case but sometimes the damage difference is not that big, yet the weapon gains some extra effect that makes it worthy.
Like Divine Avenger's Charge for example.

I would say a lvl 10 4* weapon is about as strong as a lvl 1 5* weapon, if that helps at all.

You are upgrading to the Triglav, not the 3* Grintovec. It's an increase in damage, and the charge attack gets even more of a boost.
