the difference

When graphics are high, the levels are filled with elevators. You can use this to accomplish Dauntless Delver in under 5 minutes.

When graphics are low, the levels are filled with fire traps. This is more fun, for when you want a challenge.

Whoa, I never knew that image was in the entrance to Town Square! Thanks for sharing.

Such is the life of someone who plays on a 3 year-old MacBook, with Spiral Knights graphics set permanently on low...

The first time I saw that

The first time I saw that image on the Haven landing area, I was stunned!

Speaking as a gunner... on low, the bullets of the various alchemers are just colored blobs. On high, they have neat elemental effects trailing after them, as well as an "aftershock" near the gun.

Tal here.

I find it funny how the High Graphic Picture has more Connection than the Low Graphic Counter-Part.

3-year old macbook? no problem!

@Manalicious-Knight
man, I play on a 3-year old macbook too...
but with maxed out settings and a good frame rate... courtesy of windows XP! ;D

dual boot it though boot camp, it makes a HUGE difference.

btw, I never knew that symbol wasn't there in low specs! nice find!

I normally play on low settings, but I often swap to high for the fun of it. Here are some of the things I notice:

- Nova Driver looks like it shoots spitballs on low graphics, and pretty lights on high graphics
- Umbra Driver shots are boring pinkish spheres on low graphics, while on high they get a purple-ish haze
- Polaris shots get a lightning trailing effect on high graphics, but not on low graphics
- In FSC, the Shadow Fire special effect gets taller the higher graphics setting you are on.
- Heavenly Iron Helm gets a slight glow effect on the forehead on High Graphics setting
- Low Graphics setting doesn't have player shadows, medium have them as well, and high has the most pronounced shadows
- Vog gets a fire aura on high graphics
- Snarby gets a shadowy aura on high graphics
- On Medium and High Graphics, torches give off a little circle of light which go away if they are destroyed
- On Medium and High Graphics, coins are an actual 3D model, while on Low they are a 2D image

Yeah, my brother does that with good results. My problem is that I've got too much stuff on my hard drive to make a separate partition for Windows, so I'm stuck with MacOS and its wonderful compatibility with Java.
