Actually; otaku doesnt even mean nerd. It means house. As in never leaving it because of an obsessive hobby that anchors you down at home, only leaving for food and work. Plus, it's a Japanese insult, because that only means that you have no social life. I guess it is nerd, but you're mistaking that nerds are only smart. WRONG, nerds doesnt only mean being smart. It's just mean that nerds are unappealing to most people because of their rather intolerable personality.
