So I've only been playing a few weeks, but thanks to TF2 trading I find myself with lots of CE and even more crowns.

I've heard people talk of rare recipes, so I'd like to know which ones to look out for, both for myself and to help others. Is there a handy list of those recipes that are really hard to find?

There are no "rare" recipes. All recipes have the same chance of appearing at basil.

I believe he would be

I believe he would be discussing ones that are not found in HoH. HoH recipes are quite common now.

All HoH recipes are bound so you can't sell them.

@Trying: He isn't trying to sell those. He is trying to sell the ones that AREN'T in the HoH...

As for the recipes that aren't in the HoH (that I can think of) to look for:

- Twisted Targe 3*
- Twisted Snarble Barb 3*
- Twisted Spine Cone 3*
- Dark Thorn Shield 4*
- Dark Thorn Blade 4*
- Spike Shower 4*
- Barbarous Thorn Shield 5*
- Barbarous Thorn Blade 5*
- Dark Briar Barrage 5*
- Lighting Capacitor 3*
- Plasma Capacitor 4*
- Voltaic Tempest 5*
- Kilowatt Pulsar 3*
- Heavy Pulsar 3*
- Toxic Catalyzer 3*
- Industrial Catalyzer 3*
- Gigawatt Pulsar 4*
- Radiant Pulsar 4*
- Virulent Catalyzer 4*
- Volatile Catalyzer 4*
- Polaris 5*
- Supernova 5*
- Biohazard 5*
- Neutralizer 5*
- Silversix 4*
- Blackhawk 4*
- Avenger 4*
- Faust 4*
- Argent Peacemaker 5*
- Sentenza 5*
- Divine Avenger 5*
- Gran Faust 5*

I think that's it...

the basil only recipes are boss token upgrades, and other rare recipes are the sanctuary alchemy machine recipes.

Also note that among

Also note that among Traevelliath's list, the recipes are not of equal market value. 3* ones are often quite abundant and thus very low profit. 5* ones are good, but only if the item in question is popular.

OP should go search the Auction House and see which ones are worth it, which ones are not. Compare how many are available, base cost, starting bid, buy out and if there are any bidding going on.

Actually the 4* recipes are the most common and 3* recipes give the most profit

Not sure about 3* giving most

Not sure about 3* giving most profit... do you calculate profit based on how much Basil sells it?

I don't think Basil's price is relevant, since you would never sell below that price. From what I saw, 3* and 4* recipes give 1-2 thousands profit. Popular 5* recipes give several thousands.

e.g. Two days ago I sold a Barbarous Thorn Blade recipe at 32k - 25k = 7k profit. Good luck getting that much from 3* and 4* recipes, which are 4k and 10k themselves.

I've sold a Twisted Targe recipe for 15k...

The Snarby boss item recipes go for A LOT

3* does give the most profit

3* does give the most profit because they are the cheapest, most popular, and are only found on D13, where 4* sells the worst because you can find them on both D13 and D23, with them being quite common on D23. Seerusly, have you seen how much twisted targe goes for?

Really?

I don't understand people then. I'd look at the price - 15k, then look at the base cost - 4k, then think "I better just go find this myself".

But then there are people who pays thru the nose to buy a pulsar/sealed sword instead of getting one themselves... this game runs purely on impatience I guess.

Wait! Charged Quicksilver recipes are sold in Vicious and Viscous's Mission Lobby. And you get the Plasma Capacitor recipe free for completing The Great Escape. So don't bother with those!

3* sells well... I must remember this.

"sanctuary alchemy machine recipes"

._. really, i wouldnt even call sanctuary recipes "recipes" and they are not rare. They are always in Sanctuary 100% chance of appearing.

Speaking of recipes, when I

Speaking of recipes, when I was still a noob, I saved up all my cr to buy a better item. Instead , I bought a recipe.

A 4* recipe.

A charged Quicksilver helm.

Then I saw the materials, energy, and cr needed to make it.

I still havent made a quicksilver helm and im now 5*.

What a waste.

I don't have DLC, but I heard the graviton line is available in that lobby. Last time I checked the price in AH is not very good, for obvious reasons.

speaking of profit, I found

speaking of profit, I found that 3 star recipes are selling from 10k to 18k while the 4 star recipes are selling at that range too! Quite strange to have such thing and with that price, it's pretty hard to upgrade the token rewards things...what a shame

It's because mainly T3 players see the potential profit for Recipe Runs, or are bored enough of mission grinding to explore the clockworks.

D13 or D23 arcade mission, basil will sell random recipes which could give faust recipe, doesn't matter which difficulty, but you have to joined PuG party at least at depth 11 or depth 21 to look up whatever basil offers.
