Mawashi Moses has climbed the mountain and awaits your counsel from above. Let your words fall like mana from heaven on these humble pilgrims.

She beseeches thee, O Divine Fount of Wisdom, to offer us guidance so that we may bring moral order out of the chaos that threatens to engulf us.

What are your 10 Commandments for playing, socializing, posting and just existing in general in Spiral Knights?
(Oh, and, uh, 5 "Thou Shalt Nots" with 5 "Thou Shalls" would be a nice mix. Amen)

Unless you mean like... fire-THEMED monsters are not... say... weak to freeze. In that case, you should have been more clear (these are Commandments after all...)

@Gingermace "fall like mana from heaven" is a reference to the fact that while the Israelites were wandering in the desert, God fed them with an unidentifiable food which appeared on the ground every morning. They called it mana, Hebrew for "What is it?"

@Damienfoxy and Dracos
It's too bad that you guys have gotten that impression of religion. I agree that the majority of religions are very hypocritical, but Christianity (real Christianity) is not. It is the one religion that does not claim that it's followers are better than anyone else. Rather than trying to earn your way into heaven, which is futile since no human can ever be good enough, it is a free gift through Jesus Christ's death on the cross. Anyone who accepts that gift can have eternal life in heaven. Because Christians admit that they're sinful and lost, it's not hypocrisy.

Back to the post:
1. Thou shall not beg
2. Thou shall not whine about anything (lag, CE, etc)
3. Thou shall not leave a single monster standing when it is in your power to do otherwise
4. Thou shall not craft 2-star weapons on CE
5. Thou shall not rip off new players
6. Thou shall buy CE to support OOO
7. Thou shall not call the Jelly King the Royal Jelly (heehee, trolling)
8. Thou shall not bring shadow weapons to FSC
9. Thou shall not randomly hit switches in IMF
10. Thou shall not troll the forums

I'm going to say that at 90%

I'm going to say that at 90% of Christians have never actually sat down and read the bible cover to cover. I have, and I don't like it or its God and Messiah, hence why I'm an Atheist. I'm in Atheist because I deal in a world based off of reality, evidence, and science, not baseless claims. I live in the real world, where you only get one life to make a difference, and I refuse to accept faith (literally belief without evidence) as a way to justify my wrongdoings by just swearing allegiance to a man who died some 2000 years prior, minutes before I die.

@Duke

Not every tiny part in the Bible can be taken literally. Part of reading the Bible will in fact require you to be a good reader and truly understand what is going on.

Not saying you are a bad reader, this is the interwebs. You can either be a genius or be as dumb as potato. How would I know? (In other words, don't take offense and think I am calling you stupid. Cat in the box w/ poison. I consider you both dumb and smart until I open the box).

Also, you don't just "swear allegiance" minutes before you die. Your supposed to repent (we are ALL sinners btw) and truly believe and whatnot (and that might take more than just a few minutes before you die). Then, God is the only one that can make judgements after you die.

TBH, I think you're kinda missing the point of religion if you're disregarding it because you are a man of science and reason. Religion is meant to be (or at least should be) a source of spiritual guidance. You look to science for information, facts, and knowledge. Religion is more about wisdom and discerning what is right and what is wrong. From a purely scientific standpoint, the human body is actually about $5 worth of chemicals (Less than an Elevator Pass!). If you see your fellow men as $5 lumps of elements, then I think there is something seriously wrong with you. IMO, The bizarre stories of the Bible are justifications for the moral lessons they convey (Stories that some people maybe interpret a bit too literally). I may not agree as to why I must do what is morally correct, but I can at least respect the act itself.

Anyways, these are my commandments
1) Thou shall flourish in the company of others, in place of solitary activity.
2) Thou shall respect those with power, for they then shall respect thee.
3) Thou shall teach those in want of knowledge, rather than condemning them for their naivety.
4) Thou shall honor thy adventuring company. The pain of the clockworks is shared equally amongst all present.
5) Thou shalt not harbor hatred for another Knight.
6) Thou shall defend and assist any of the Spiral Order, for the Cradle is a world we all stand on
7) Thou shall seek and hold fast to friends, and they shall respond with loyalty
8) Thou shalt not invade the privacy of another's adventuring company without the permission or desire of the leader.
9) Knowledge is too be heard and acted upon, yet dogmatic assertions are too be dismissed and abandoned.
10) Thou shall realize that every other mind met is a mind in search of a single, all powerful emotion: Fun.

EDIT**
Albeit I'm Jewish and still find most of the ideas of "repentance" and such to be silly. In Judaism, you can only be forgiven by the ones you have wronged, not by those who are closer to God. As I implied a bit earlier, I don't agree with the idea of living a morally correct life in order to go to Heaven and avoid eternal suffering. I will live a morally correct life because that is how I will be able to live with myself and see myself as a good person.

I don't believe in any religion, but I am still open to the ideas they put forward.

I have my own reasoning for why I believe our 'gods' are fictional. Reasons I will not state for fear of riling up the religious community.

Still, I keep in mind that logic can only work so far, and that there are many inexplicable things that MAY be the work of spiritual beings or other beings of the like.

So I respect your faith in whichever religion, as long as it allows me my own views.

However, beware supremacists that think there is no truth other than their god, and that all non-believers should be crucified etcetcetc... 'cuz really, thinking like that just annoys me. Kluklux clan for the white supremacists sorta thing (no offense 'white' people. I don't exactly have a list of cults to use as examples)

Also, blind faith kinda irks me too. Like not worrying when you fall off a cliff because you believe your god will protect you from harm, because I find that's just silly. HOPING he'll help is fine, thanking him if you don't die is fine too, asking him to 'guide your steps' if you don't know the path is somewhat fine too, but saying he will protect you from harm? That's a bit far-fetched. God probably has more important things to attend to.

So yeah. Agnostic I think. Not religious, but not Atheist either.

@Dukeplatypus I agree that most Christians don't read the Bible enough, but I actually have read the whole thing cover-to-cover, I'm almost done with my second run through. You seem to believe that there is no scientific evidence for Christianity, but the world is full of it. Just to name a few: The law of Causality (everything that had a beginning had a cause. The Universe had a beginning, therefore it had a cause), the complete lack of intermediate forms in the fossil record (look up the Cambrian explosion), or the origins of life (since it is a scientific law that life never comes from non-life). I expect you're thinking something like "I've never seen God therefore he doesn't exist", but why would you expect something that is non-physical by definition to manifest itself in physical ways?

In addition, you claim to be a man of science, but your stated reason for not believing in the Bible, Christ, or God is that "I don't like them". Does that really sound scientific to you?

"I refuse to accept faith.... as a way to justify my wrongdoings by just swearing allegiance to a man who died some 2000 years prior, minutes before I die." Faith in Christ is not something that will just happen minutes before you die, it is committing your life to the One who died to save you. Faith doesn't justify your wrongdoings, everything I have done wrong in my life is just as wrong as it was before i accepted Christ, but the difference is that I've been forgiven. I deserve to burn in Hell for all eternity, but thanks to Jesus' sacrifice, I don't have to, and neither do you.

@Trevelliath I agree that some of the stories in the Bible are merely moral lessons, (the good Samaritan for example) but whenever they are things that didn't really happen, they are very clearly labeled as parables. The majority of the Bible is clearly labeled as Historical fact. The claims of the Bible about the history of Israel, the plagues on Egypt, Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, and the details of the early church are all very clearly meant to be taken literally.

"In Judaism, you can only be forgiven by the ones you have wronged, not by those who are closer to God" In Christianity, you are not forgiven by those who are closer to God, you are forgiven by God and God alone

"I don't agree with the idea of living a morally correct life in order to go to Heaven and avoid eternal suffering" Neither do I. Living a morally correct life does absolutely nothing to bolster your chances of getting into heaven. In the eyes of our Creator, we are all sinful and wretched creatures. I deserve to go to heaven exactly as much as Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, or Genghis Khan did. Thankfully, Jesus gave us the free gift of salvation through his death on the cross, all we need to do is accept it.

Since you're Jewish, that means that you and I have more common ground than people of most other faiths. I would encourage you to look over the Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament (I'm sorry, i don't know what you call it), and see how many of those were fulfilled by Jesus Christ. It might surprise you.

@Psychodestroyer "think there is no truth other than their god" So, I take it you're one of those people who thinks that we can all be right? Every path leads to the top of the mountain sort of thing? Well, I'm sorry, but it's made very clear in the Bible that there is one and only one way into heaven, and that is faith in Jesus Christ. I honestly wish this was the case, I would love it if everyone got saved, but they're not. So, as a follower of Christ, it is my duty to do everything in my power to help people come to faith in Jesus Christ, and in that be saved from the fires of hell.

" blind faith kinda irks me" Me too. I hate it when people believe in something without any rational reason to do so. I do extensive research into the logic and science behind my faith (see my response to Dukeplatypus). The Bible constantly challenges it's readers to "investigate and see if these claims are true". Christians don't get brownie points for being stupid.

As far as your analogy about the cliff goes, God never promises to make your life perfect once you believe in him. He doesn't fix every problem, protect you from every danger, or make you rich. If you don't believe me, ask the thousands of Christians who are killed for their faith every day. What he does promise is that there's more to life than this world. That once your life is over, you will get to spend eternity in heaven with him. And that's good enough for me.
