Impulsive Players, Like Myself

I'm too impulsive. I spend CE like it will disappear tomorrow.

I revive, revive, revive. Especially when I get to the jelly king and want those damn jelly tokens. I need them.

On one jelly run I only used one revive from top to bottom and I was so happy. I thought I was getting better, using my gun more, circling and shielding. Then I went on another and spent 500 CE reviving. It doesn't help my impulsiveness that I can get a lot of CE energy at minimal cost.

I'm too wasteful, I need help :(

put a cap on how many times

put a cap on how many times you're allowed to revive yourself (say, 2-3 times) and cut your loses when you exceed it. and also, die less.

Set a limit for yourself. I

Set a limit for yourself. I just don't do 40 energy revives. It's not worth my energy, I'll just go back up and try again, trying to get better and better at playing with less and less revives.

Also - think of it this way:

Also - think of it this way: You can spend 500 CE reviving, trying to beat Jelly King for 4 tokens, or buy a premade Avenger/Faust (25 Tokens + Mats) for 800-1k CE

@Deslare If I start thinking

@Deslare If I start thinking that way I'll get depressed. My energy tab on the site is full of -10, -20s. I just can't help it haha. To me it also feels weird, like I'm paying real money for equipment. My weird sense of morality won't let me pay for equipment, I want to craft it on my own or toss some crowns over to someone else to make it for me. I got practically all my current equipment that way.

@djbiznatch Dying less sounds like a good option, albeit one that I try to use and fail practically every time I do a tier 2 run.

I really just hate getting to the Jelly King and having to quit. It also doesn't help that I blow my crowns all the time too.

You may not be good enough

You may not be good enough for the Jelly King yet. I lost miserably the first couple of times I went because neither my gear nor my skill was good enough yet. Play through other gates until you consistently get to the end without dying once, then challenge yourself with the boss.

i dont think the tokens are

i dont think the tokens are worth the fuss. you're still making good loot and heat off a jelly king run, even if you don't beat him. so just try, try again.

also, are you soloing?

Choose a ridiculous number.

Choose a ridiculous number. Something over 9000, because hey.

Put the crystal energy you feel you shouldn't be impulse-using up for sale at that price on the market.

Now, you can't impulse-spend it. You can get it back easily by cancelling the sale, but in the meantime, it's not there on your screen, tempting you with it's delicious readiness.

Re: Pay for equipment...

Look at it this way: you can spend that CE reviving, or you can spend that CE doing another entire run.

You miss my point - I'm not

You miss my point - I'm not suggesting you buy equipment, I'm suggesting that with the energy you waste throwing yourself at an obstacle over your current ability, you could better yourself, or do more runs to get more crowns.

@Icee I I'm at 19 tokens and

@Icee I
I'm at 19 tokens and I really want that 25 so I can trade it in. I can't help it, I feel like a failure if I make it all that way and quit. I'm not good enough for sure, some guild friend I have beats him with only one other member. I go with 4 people and get stomped.

@djbiznatch
I solo'd twice and gave up once revives started costing me 100 odd a pop. I quit solo'ing after that.

@FlashbackJon
Great point and I always try to think of it that way. It's just sitting on so much CE makes it so tempting to use it. Probably why my gf hates to take me shopping.

@Leviathan
Neat idea, I'll try that. I'll limit myself to 120 CE that way. Hopefully no one is silly enough to buy it hah.

Last one,
@Deslare
Yep I did miss your point. I'll just quit when I find it too hard. Ran into a graveyard recently and just quit right away since I knew I wasn't going to make it.

I just came back from another run, only used 10 points to revive. Ran into a great group of players that knew what they were doing so that helped :)

Thanks everyone, looks like I won't need therapy after all.

=x I wish I had 500 to waste

=x I wish I had 500 to waste on a revive... it's been a struggle to just get the energy to keep playing and finally alch some 4 star equipment... but that's a part of the fun ;D

Think of it this way...

You are helping your Jelly Party by letting THEM revive you. You get the tokens you want while they get some of your heat. My game partner does PUG Jelly Runs just to gain heat faster not just from all the extra monsters per floor, but from raising less skillful players. It's a WIN-WIN situation for all.

@ryne

Not having good teams is a sure fire loss too. And that is not something you can control. It just isn't. In fact, if you are not a particularly good player then you are part of the problem (except for not really, since your unique problem would be not good enough teammates lol, but true). Gauge your teams play throughout the level, and if it's not up to par, pull the plug on any revives vs king jelly.

@others, i find that given K.Jelly's heals, it's really kind of beat him outright or lose. Any team i've been on (mostly bad) that have to start reviving, at this point he has healed himself, and now we are back where we started minus the crucial poison, fire, curse, etc vials. I've rarely been on a team that beats him after revives. But, most the teams that i've been on have had 2-3 star equip. I beat him my first time with just 2 of us, lol, i was spoiled. And that was with me not knowing what the hell was going on, and spending the majority of the time standing above the jelly king, not noticing thru his bulk that i was attacking the wrong direction. So my teammate (w/ vile striker) basically solo'd him. Although, to be fair, i got in a money curse and fire.
