I was curious, what do people really like about this game, and what do they dislike?

My personal list:
Favorites: Being with friends, Lockdown (because I can be a wolver clone with swords and prolaris/that blue ragequit inducing haze bomb and feel like I'm a demigod), and finding new people to talk to.
Least Favorites: The general lack of gameplay content, how the community has more than it's fair share of negative personalities, and how terribly the game lags for me (always one red bar, sometimes it spikes up to 1-2 second delays and freezes).

Well, how about you guys? What do you think?

Favorites 1) OHKOing a room

Favorites
1) OHKOing a room full of enemies via vortex bomb
2) Running though mission faster with other people then versus when I'm alone.
It's a good way to convince me I still have a reason to party with people outside of
shadow lairs.

Pet peeves
1) Large amounts of lag. I rely a lot on dodging to prevent me from having to revive.
Lag makes this harder
2) Heavy mist bomb/trollaris/Leviathan Blade spam
It's fine when there's some guy spamming his AoA on mobs. That's cool.
However, wearer of Skolver, your blaster venom veiler/stagger storm spam
is useless compared to, I dunno, actually KILLING the enemy. Just saying.
I probably will refuse to party with you in the future. Yes I am in a position to do that.

Favorites:

1. Art style
2. Gameplay, the controls and whatnot. Also native controller support makes me so happy.
3. COSTUME ARMOR IS NOT THE SAME AS THE ARMOR YOU WEAR <3

Least favorites:

1. How "endgame" content is reserved for players who have a lot of money or a LOT LOT LOT of time invested into the game; I have 18 days logged game time-wise but because I didn't invest more wisely and play the energy market correctly I'm still unable to do a Shadow Lair.

Remember guys, it's PROlaris.

Remember guys, it's PROlaris. That's why people spam it so much T_T

I forgot to add shock to my list of pet peeves. It's makes the lag on my computer seem worse than ever, and the unpredictable effects with my latency often gets me killed in pvp.

Like:
- Art Style
- Skill-focused gameplay
- Costume Armor
- Real-time Player run economy
- Diversity of levels (Ever tried running something other than FSC 24/7?)
- Shadow Lairs

Dislike:
- Elitist Assumptions (being someone at the end of the game, I hate when people assume I'm either invincible, rich, arrogant, or a combination of all three)
- P2P hate (They allow you to buy CE for crowns, you should be grateful...)
- F2P hate (Players are what make MMO's fun!)
- Impatient players (omg! OOO hasn't released content for the last three weeks! ... -.-')
- People who randomly join my party without invite or prior notice

Good question. Not entirely sure half the time.

Oddly enough, the content of this game has always been something that's pleased me. Granted, it's all a bit repetitive, but it's so much fun and far superior to any other MMO I've ever played before. I was rather used to constant grinding (e.g. Runescape and Maplestory), allegedly free games (Runescape again, Pirate Galaxy), or games with such a brobdingnagian learning curve that it's difficult to even get started and enjoy whatever content there is (Black Prophecy, I think Mabinogi, if I recall correctly), so a game that's actually fun to play all the time, more or less whatever you do, was a stunning contrast. Another thing is the way the game is set up cooperatively - it actually sets an atmosphere of teamwork and building each other up rather than the blaming of others that takes place so often elsewhere. Indeed, there's still a lot of idiots and impolite people playing this game, but for the large part it seems like people are more concerned about working towards a common goal than anything else. At least in my experience, anyway.

Hm... dislikes? A lot, but most are fairly petty, I think. I wish Lockdown didn't favor Strikers and one gear setup so heavily. I prefer the guardian and recon classes, but I can never seem to make them work very effectively... I know it's possible to succeed with alternative methods, as I've read on the bombing guide on the wiki, but I don't really have the gear or the skill for it. Again, that's probably petty. The community can be unpleasant sometimes, particularly on the forums. It'd be nice if there was a hotkey for gate map? I'd like to get to the Core, or at least more endgame content.

Stuff I like: - The basic

Stuff I like:

- The basic gameplay. I only planned to try out the game in order to get the free TF2 hat, but I got hooked immediately. A fun take on the slash-em-up 2D Zelda titles, but multiplayer too? Yes please.

- The art style and music. From the knights to the monsters to the levels themselves, I love the almost cutesy-steampunk aesthetic. And the soundtrack is just terrific...I really need to buy it one of these days.

- The variations in equipment. There's a wide array of both weapons and armor sets, most of which are useful in at least some situations, and this in turn allows for different playstyles. I've mostly been a plain Calibur-line swordsman up until now, but I definitely want to give gunning or bombing a shot in the future.

- The ease at getting groups together. Being able to join random people in the Clockworks, or invite a friend into your party, is as simple as pie, and makes everything much more enjoyable.

- The missions system. Yes, I know most of the levels are rehashes of Arcade stuff, and it's introduced a few problems, but I still enjoyed progressing through them, and getting some expanded story accompanying the gameplay. There are a few real gems among them, too. Even better, the daily Prestige mission is a nice way to get in a quick run for 20 minutes or so.

Stuff I'm indifferent to:

- PvP, for the most part. Blast Network is decently fun, but I'm still pretty bad at it, and it's hard to find other people playing it now. As for Lockdown...sorry, but I don't really see the appeal. At least for me, the battle mechanics of Spiral Knights don't translate very well to PvP combat; there's only so much you can do with two dimensions. More importantly, the way things are now, there's pretty much only one loadout that works really well for it, and I don't have the required gear. If I need a killin' fix, TF2 takes care of that nicely.

Stuff I dislike:

- The grinding, and I don't necessarily mean by me. There's something kind of depressing about the fact that most endgame-level players do little but run FSC over and over and over again, and it's even worse now that it's accessible via mission. It's nearly impossible to find a party on a T3 stratum that doesn't include it. Yes, I know it's the most profitable area, but there's more to this game than just eking out a few thousand extra Crowns. C'mon, expand a little! Do some Aurora Isles, or Scarlet Fortress, or Candlestick Keep, or *shudder* Devilish Drudgery levels! Don't worry about the crowns for once, and just have fun!

- The lack of variety among gear that's actually in-use. Look around your average Haven, and it seems like one out of every two people is wearing the Wolver line. This kind of ties in with the previous point, since everyone is set up like this for the eventual purpose of grinding FSC. Hell, even if you're going to go that route, at least throw a different costume on to liven things up a bit.

- The current mission party setup. At least as far as I can tell, it's impossible to join a mission in-progress after the party leaves the Ready Room...which basically means that, outside of maybe boss runs, you're almost never going to be able to join a party. I've been stuck on a few Rank missions for a long while, because I didn't get lucky enough to get some help with them. I know OOO is probably trying to prevent people from advancing through the ranks by just hopping on at the end of a mission, but I think you should at least be able to join at any point during the first level. As for daily prestige missions, just nerf the prestige earned for anyone who joins later, and you're set.

- The time required for progression. I know I don't have much room to talk as a F2P guy, but it's depressing just how long it takes to acquire even one 5-star set, let alone two or more. Even if you're just talking helmet/armor/shield/weapon, that's 3200 CE to reach that final level, to say nothing of the 1600 just to get to 4-star. As you can imagine, that takes a LOT of trading for CE. I don't know that there's any good way to change this without destroying the game's economy, but it's still frustrating. I'm at the point where I might wind up buying some CE just for the sole purpose of upgrading a few sets.

- Lag, but that's ubiquitous. Whatcha gonna do.

- Devilites. Just...Devilites. And Greavers too, on a bad day. Ugh.

Mine.

Favorites:

  • Getting a party marching down to the Clockworks...(most notably on Firestorm Citadel)
  • Playing Lockdown with friends in-game, usually the strong opponents.
  • Chilling in Haven, chit-chat.
  • Having wishlists and goals of what we have in game, e.g. ASI VH Flourish.
  • Inventing homemade tricks either in Clockworks or Lockdown.

Dislikes:

  • Beggars in Haven.
  • Majority of latency issues while playing Spiral Knights.
  • A hell of a lot of crown sinks on Spiral Knights, e.g. that gremlin who always scam people's money, most notably with a thwack hammer and a round face with one eye closed, the other glowing light and an eerie smile.
  • Wide of variable complaints and anxiety(including myself as one, for one year without an endgame equipment.).
  • Abusive gun called Polaris is abusive.
  • Devilites and Spookats are annoying.

As an 6-2 player

Favourites:
---Art style
---Free but fan and enough
---CE trade (it's like real money!)
---Equipments

Least Favourites:
---Expensive elevator
---Expensive recipe cost(loads of energy to make an equipment)
---SHOCK!
---Number of bosses, only 4(without Shadow Lair)

I think that SEGA wants us to spend so much energy, and it is my least favourite. I know, that's how SEGA earn money, but for free-to-play players...energy system makes this game harder. I'd take ages to be full 4* for The Hall of Heroes 6-2 ;_;
Also I'm bored to do JK run, Snarbolax run, Twins run to get money and Token. (not Vana yet) Want more bosses in normal missions.

And....why are 5-1 missions harder than 6-2!!??? by a 6-2 player
