I downloaded the standalone cilent for Spiral Knights, back in the days, it used to work connecting Steam account to standalone client but now it kept failing to connect through.

Could we discuss did Three Rings removed this function or there is a problem with it? I spent 6 hours waiting and tried to login with countless tries of failure. Now I have to get Steam to work it out.. -_-

You need to use some

You need to use some 'facebook' trick to play steam account in standalone client since oficially you cant use standalone client to play with steam account. Accounts bound to steam are bound to it forever.

Oh well, i play on standalone

Oh well, i play on standalone client so i cant check that.

And if you could do it till now, and now you cant... maybe OOO got mad that players are escaping from steam using this trick? This would explain recent faliure of steam Energy Depot. They could do something to trap people permamently with steam and by mistake they broke something with energy depot.

Still working fine for me,

Still working fine for me, and the energy depot doesn't crash anymore, hasn't since they ninja fixed it back during the mission update. The only crash is when pressing "friend options". Idk if the tier 1 lobby crash still happens, but if you search back i posted a config change that fixes that one.

Long story short the Facebook work around still works.
