Energy
So I'm playing the game and my main character ran out of energy and I still wanted to play, so I started another character, but for some reason my second character is working off of my first characters energy. Is it suppose to do that?
I figured they would want you to play the game as much as possible, so it kind of doesn't make sense that they do, after all starting another character doesn't really net you any advantages over other players, it just lets you play the game more. Also what if I had a friend that I wanted to have try out the game, but can't cause creating a new character would still have no energy?
Ya i can understand that, many facebook games follow the same principal but they all bind energy to the character, was just wondering why this game doesn't do that and why it offer multiple character slots at all for that matter.
To be honest, I'm not sure why they bother with multiple character slots.
As for the other, well, they'd like you buy at least a little energy. So, if you buy 75 cents in energy for one character, they stop sharing energy with other characters.
Sure, it's a bit nickle-and-dime. But it seems to work for Three Rings, and 75 cents? That's not such a biggie, if you're already wanting to have multiple players on the computer, or show it off to friends, or even just have a separate alt-account.

actually they don't stop sharing... i've bought energy twice, and the mist energy is still being split between the two characters... does it have to be a whole separate account?

Yes, separate account. All knights on the same account share all Energy resources.
Blerg. Yes, like d0gr0ck said.
ok... i just created an account with my facebook and its still sharing with my non facebook account is that a glitch?
edit : Wow i just found this, http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Energy_FAQ
I cannot even believe three rings thought this was a good idea. You do want people to play your game right?

They want people to pay for their game, not freeload endlessly.
If you could make more accounts for free and get mist energy on each one, you'd be able to play for free forever very easily. That is not the intent of this game.
You get 100 mist per 22 hours, shared across all of your free accounts. That's enough to play for 1-2 hours every day. After that, you will need Crystal Energy, which you can buy for crowns (allowing you to continue playing for free, but progress through gear more slowly) or for cash. If you want each of your accounts to have its own mist energy, you will have to buy crystal energy with cash on each one. Once you spend real money, the account gets its own mist tank instead of sharing.
Yes, it is supposed to do that. You can do everything in the game for free, but at a rate of only a couple hours a day, unless you spend some cash, or get good enough at the game to buy more energy with crowns (the coins you pick up as you go) on a regular basis.
Many of the threads on this board are about how to get that good. Dig on in.
