So I used to use a cryo driver and a shadow driver, which was a great combo... But then I stumbled upon the 4* version of Polaris! Now I use that and the shadow driver for the type combo. After using the 4* Polaris for awhile I love it! Now I dont really like how I can only fire one bullet at a time without having to reload with my shadow driver, and it has so much less range, it just doesn't have the same feel. Is there another gun that will go well with Polaris? The gun must be able to shoot while moving, that's big for me... If not, is there a bomb line that would do piercing or shadow damage that would go well with Polaris? Thanks!
Gunman Weapon Choice Help!
I thought that you couldnt move with sentenza? do you say it is mobile because you can shoot and move after quickly? I was taking a good look at the biohazard and i think i might like it from the looks of it, very interesting style of play haha. I have practiced a little with the bounces but its really hard to get them to bounce where i want them to... frankly i got kind of tired of it, and the straight damage is kind of boring haha :P
Sentenza and Argent Peacemaker are both highly mobile. If I recall correctly, you are slowed down while firing them, but you never stop moving. Also, you fire many rapid, small shots. They're very easy. You can probably find videos of them on YouTube.
In contrast, Callahan requires you to stand still while firing, but lets you move while reloading (after a patch a few months ago). Blitz/Plague Needle requires you to stand still while firing and while reloading.
Read the "Ask a Master Gunslinger Anything" threads on the forums, or look for videos on YouTube, for more information about how to aim alchemer shots for optimal ricochet. I will say that Hail Driver is my least favorite, of the ones I've tried, because it often unfreezes itself. (It's certainly not spammable.)
Biohazard/Neutralizer fans report that those guns are really fun, so go ahead and give one a try.
If you mainly care about the feel of a weapon, you're gonna need to try em all out for yourself. You can get 2/3* guns with basically the same mechanics as the 5* ones from boss drops and AH.
Catalyzer has the same bullet speed and ammo size as pulsar, btw. Just lacks knock back on normal shots.

I think he was talking about using the charge.
Blitz/Plague Needle requires you to stand still while firing and while reloading.
For reloading partially true, for the charge shot, yes, however not for the regular shot use. Though with the charge and FSC being the main focus essentially yes.

I just tested it, to make sure I wasn't crazy. Let me clarify, and tell me if you still disagree:
Blitz regular attacks require you to stand still while firing. There is essentially no reload delay, so there is nothing to say about reloading.
Blitz charge attacks let you move while charging, but require standing still while firing and reloading.
Sentenza regular attacks let you move while firing and reloading.

You cannot move freely during any charge attack. Some charge attacks just take longer than others.
The Callahan and Blitz are the only guns which stop your movement for regular shots.
And I think Antiguas are the least mobile of the non-piercing guns. You have to reload less often, but if you need mobility, you shouldn't be reloading anyways. Try juggling Alchemers, i.e. fire switch repeat.

There is essentially no reload delay
It seems from my perspective that if you:
1) fire the charge, you are rooted until after you reload.
2) Trigger a reload by shooting twice in a row, you can begin to move as soon as the second shot ends, reloading at a reduced rate of movement.
(i.e be able to strafe and avoid a wolver or devilite projectile while reloading)

Judging from your preferences, sounds like a toss-up between Sentenza and Biohazard.
Sentenza would be good since it does well on single enemies, fires very fast, and has a large clip. It sounds like what you are looking for, but the only downside is that, as mentioned before, the charge does root you in place for a very long time. It is also a straight damage gun like the umbra driver, but has a gremlin bonus which would match with Polaris nicely since gun puppies tend to appear with gremlins.
Biohazard has mechanics very similar to the Polaris, except that is specializes with it's charge instead of normal shots. It's not just straight up damage as it also poisons, which counters healers, increases overall damage, and decreases the punishment you receive from getting hit. The explosions are very powerful when set off, but require some setup. It does not do as well as other guns in a party due to this, but in solo runs it's awesome.
Good luck with the gunning, and have fun. Remember to fire the Polaris at the location of your sword friends as well, you'll get funny reactions.
@Trollingyou im a half swordie man and hate polaris users.... They make you chase the enemies that are being knockedback with their gun.
Anyway as i stated im a half swordsman i hold guns and swords.. Im currently having a DA,Grand Flourish,Silent Nightblade,Blitz Needle,Freezing Atomizer,Ascended Calibur,Kilowatt Pulsar
piercing guns: Callahan (most mobile, but still not as mobile as you want), Blitz/Plague Needle (even less mobile)
shadow guns: Umbra Driver, Sentenza (highly mobile), Biohazard (which uses the "weird" Catalyzer style of play)
piercing bombs: Dark Briar Barrage
shadow bombs: Graviton Vortex (but damage isn't its main purpose), Dark Retribution (requires Operation Crimson Hammer)
You might like Sentenza. But are you sure that you dislike Umbra? Have you practiced the ricochets to the point where you can get them to bounce inside a monster, for large damage? The alchemers are fairly heavy-hitting weapons. Master the ricochets, before you abandon alchemers entirely. (Edited.)
