First Forum Post :O

Alright i looked through the Wiki read some guides etc and asked people about it. But i dont feel smarter now.

So i hope you guys might be able to help me out.

I wanna go to the Shadow Lair and im currently trying to get the best fitting equipment.

What i currently have is (some 4* Star stuff too but im not going to list that now):

Armor:

Skolver Cap and Skolver Coat

Shield:

Ironmight Plate Shield

Sword:

Leviathan Blade, Barbarous Thorn Blade, Warmaster Rocket Hammer

Gun:

Polaris, Sentenza, Magma Driver

Bomb:

Ash of Agni, Dark Retribution, Graviton Vortex

Trinkets:

The only ones i have which i thought would be good for the Shadow Lair are the health one with 3 Stars and a 4 Star Poison Resistance Trinket.

A buddy of mine said my equipment would be best for the Ice Queen but that i would also need much more Poison Resistance for the Unknown Passage afterwards. Maybe a 5 Star Skelly Shield instead of the Ironmight?

So what do you guys think what kind of changes i should go for?

Or maybe you could add me ingame and we will talk then ;)

Ummm Well the unknown passage

Ummm

Well the unknown passage does not deal poison anywhere

Ur gear is good for IQ but I suggest a shadow sword
Ur guns are perfect and to complete that set get a shadow sword

Well, if you plan to go to

Well, if you plan to go to the Ice Queen Shadow Lair, you probably want something like this:

Skolver Cap and Coat (perfect for Ice Queen SL)
Barbarous Thorn Shield

Shadow sword (Gran Faust, Acheron)
Elemental sword (Combuster, Divine Avenger)
Gun (Polaris, Biohazard, Umbra Driver)
Bomb (Ash of Agni, Dark Retribution)

Somebody in your party should definitely have Ash of Agni.

The poison resist trinket wouldn't be very useful. You would be better off using a CTR trinket if you go with Brandishes, or an ASI trinket if you go with Sealed Swords. Also, it's debateable whether the Heart Pendant would be worth equipping. Some people like to use those in the Shadow Lair, but, meh, +4 health probably wouldn't make much of a difference. It might be better to equip two CTR or ASI sword trinkets.

That's just my opinion. I've only done the Ice Queen Shadow Lair once because the material is worthless.

Alright my friend said there

Alright my friend said there are a lot of poison traps in the passage so im a bit confused now who to believe :P.

Im currently working on a Divine Avenger and an Acheron. But im closer to the Divine Avenger so i think ill get that first. Might change my Trinkets then and consider some better ones for my swords.

So hard to

So hard to understand?

"General Discussion
Discuss Spiral Knights"

"The Arsenal
Discuss the wide range of weapons, armor and items of Spiral Knights."

And if its your first post, why you rush directly into General Discussion (with wrong topic) instead of starting off in New Recruits?

Uhm well i guess its kind of

Uhm well i guess its kind of a mixed question so i wasnt sure. Basically i want to know more about the Shadow Lair and the Equipment needed.

And i dont think this belong to New Recruits since its not really a newbie question or does every new player run Shadow Lairs and i just missed that :P

Its not like the first post has to be in that particular forum only cause im new to the forums or does it? Havent seen a specific rule which states that yet.

Anyways if a mod feels offended by this thread being in General Discussion then move it.

Thanks for the answers so far.

see wik page "Shadow Lair"

Which Shadow Lair? They all have different requirements/suggestions in equipment, as described at the wiki page "Shadow Lair". Your armor and shield is is awesome for the Shadow Royal Jelly Palace, but you don't have many shadow weapons, so your weapons are poor for that. Your weapons are fine for the Shadow Gloaming Wildwoods, but your armor is not. If you're unfamiliar with how damage works, read the wiki page "Damage"; this is perhaps the single most important rule in Spiral Knights.

Like Metaalpha, I cannot recall seeing any poison traps in the Unknown Passage.

You said that you have a 4-star trinket. This doesn't do much. When getting trinkets from Brinks, always save up for the 5-star version. Your trinket slots are precious; fill them only with the best possible trinkets.

Edit: And you yourself can move this equipment question to the Arsenal forum. Please do. If you like, you can also search for previous threads on this same topic.

Oh nice i wasnt aware that i

Oh nice i wasnt aware that i could move the topic. Problem solved.

Hmm i think ill get an Acheron then and go with this setup:

Sword: Acheron

Gun: Polaris

Bombs: Ash of Agni, Dark Retribution

Armor: Skolver Cap and Coat

Trinkets: 5*Sword Damage and 5*Sword Charge Reduction (Not good at remembering names :P)

What do you think? For Ice Queen i guess this should be a good setup then.

@Bopp already read the stuff in the Wiki but ill check it again.

good

Yes, for SRJP that's a great setup. It involves exactly the armor and weapon types suggested by the article.

Don't even bother to remember the names for the sword trinkets; what you wrote is far easier for everyone to understand. :)

Alright thanks Bopp. I also

Alright thanks Bopp. I also thought i will exchange the Sword Damage Module for an Bomb Charge Time Reduction Module since i will take two bombs with me. Thought that might help more since Ice Queen has strong close range attacks. Might not wanna be too close all the time.
