At the surface it does seem VT immunity is much more important since shocked = instant death. However in matches without VT having piercing defense can also save your butt. It gives you that extra resistance to win a 1 on 1 vs another striker.

Shock Immunity.
I'm a Recon bomber, and Recon bomber vs Recon bomber match ups are so horribly difficult. They're basically a test as to who can get as close as possible to the other person's VT radius without getting shock, as many times in a row as possible, until someone else swoops in and kills one of them. Good bombers tend to also have a Stagger, but Stun doesn't stop someone from dropping bombs.
Btw, I know of a few people who just use like a Divine Veil with Shock High to get Shock Immunity.

ofc pierce max CAN save your life in some situations but in general i don´t feel like it changes the number of hits taken to get killed significantly. shock resi also may keep you from getting shocked by polaris and killed right after.

what shock resi is required for VT-immunity?
