What if every level on the same depth had the same payout?

Just an idea. 99% of SK players now farm FSC every single day, but what would happen if every other Stratum 6 had the same payout as FSC? Maybe even slightly more payout than FSC, as FSC's D28 is the throne room boss fight and logically should have less payout than any other D28.

EDIT: I'd like to add that arenas should be the only exception to this payout rule, just to give people reason to play through them instead of choosing to constantly farm easier levels.

Note: this is not a suggestion, I am merely bringing up a hypothetical situation for people to discuss.

Then people would farm

Then people would farm whatever was easiest/had the fewest enemies/was quickest.

Is that possible? What with

Is that possible? What with the maps changing all the time and all.

@Thich if all the levels were

@Thich if all the levels were equal, then there wouldn't really be an "easiest" factor. Except maybe people would avoid fiends. Right now people just farm FSC. How would it be much worse if they were farming something else?

@Trobolta it seems it would just be a matter of controlling how much money drops per creature.

If all levels paid out correctly (which is what I presume you mean), it would leave people to play what they found to be the most fun.

And of course, go read my book. It has a lovely section on balancing the level payouts. http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/53465

I take it you mean 99% of endgame players, but...

I think I'm with Thich there - but, I have a question:
Does the crown payout affect treasure boxes?
Aside from the easiest ones, you would get people in Arenas, though, for heat.

Crown payout wouldn't change

Crown payout wouldn't change too much, considering the money you get from selling Ancient Plate items would still get you more than you would get from doing any other stratum over time.

SELL? Ancient Plate is

SELL? Ancient Plate is amazing. Why would you sell it.

As Shoebox says, don't forget that the Vana fight gives you tokens. That's 3k from fighting Vana (sometimes 4k). Mind you, doing other stratums at the same payout would be far better since you could actually get 5* mats that are worth something.

hmm

That's kind of what I was thinking, the Vanaduke fight doesn't pay out anything besides the treasure boxes but it does give you the tokens to compensate.

Also, isn't the mat thing totally subjective, seeing as the only reason FSC's mats are considered worthless is because nearly everybody farms the stratum?

Isn't the market totally

Isn't the market totally subjective in general? That's why jelly mats and fire mats are dirt cheap.

I would like to see more people in other areas of the clockworks, but until then, I'll take advantage of market opportunities as they are.

"SELL? Ancient Plate is amazing. Why would you sell it."

You can keep one set if you want, but you don't need 30 copies of it. Grind vana tokens, get ancient plate over and over again, sell for 30kcr a piece, making Vana's depth worth 3kcr (sometimes 4kcr) per trip over time.

At the thread's point, I don't care if everything pays /equal/ but I don't want to be financially punished for doing something other than FSC. They could nerf FSC's payout to the point its worse than depth 1 and I would still consider it an improvement because I'm so tired of its payout being so much higher than everything else to the point it's the only thing worth doing.
