So, let's discuss why the Spiral Knights community has complained about, and constantly discussed. These are all several things that have been going on for a little bit.
1) Content
2) Auto Aim
3) Gear Rebalancing (In particular: Flourish/Snarble, Polaris, Wolver, etc.)
4) Rising CE Prices (hoping for a Promo)
5) Making OCH Accessible Too Late
6) Energy in general (in terms of crafting)
7) P2P vs F2P Benefits
8) UV Locking Lessening the UV Market
9) The Community (You interpret)
And more
Feel free to discuss any these. Argue why you think one of these is more important than the others. We know the OOO team is working on things, even if we don't know exactly. We've gotten general ideas, but they were a little bit back. It's definitely hard to do so much. You see people leaving constantly. What of all of these, or something not on the list, could be changed to help keep more people here?
1. Long time players are not satisfied grinding over and over again. They could easily just quit and play something else. BUT they stay despite the complains on the forums and whatnot, most likely in /hopes/ that something big will come. ...Or something like that.

*Flourishes are fine as it is. But I think what makes this sword really annoying is the fact that it's first slash is basically unfair: It is quick and has the range of a heavy sword combo(180 degrees) It's thrusts have long range but is very hard to aim without autotarget (point 2), so... just the first slash.
*On polaris, that gun is actually okay-ish. Why people hate it? It is basically shooting a flying bomb. As you know bombs annoy with their huge explosions (nitronome) and take that explosion which causes some people to lag, shock status, and "annoying" knockback and you have the perfect recipe for rage. Except that... none of those issues affect me aside from shock. The knockback helps me defend myself if I'm getting too surrounded. People using it on me? I'll just let them handle the monsters and shield bump things away if I get surrounded.
*Wolver gear buffs swords. Okay. They cover all 3 damage (in defense terms). Okay. Now let's look at gunner gear. They have damage buffing gear. Okay. They have a set which can be considered gear for any class (universal undead bonus). Kinda unfair, but you can not craft it anyway. Now for the neglected demo sets. Bombastic's buff make for a nice freeze resistant gear, and you can still hit ctr max with trinkets. Okay. Mad bomber sacrifices some normal defense and status resist for insane buffs. Okay. Volcanic demo is just about good anywhere. Okay. But all demo gear only have elemental defense... Not okay. Basically there's totally no drawback to using swordie gear, as for gunners it is maybe fine. In fact gunslinger lines is somewhat on par with wolver lines now... Except there's no 2* for rage crafting. Demo gear is just... elemental defense. Unbalanced much? I mean okay but as bombers we have no time to shield and if the occasional jelly thorns come up and stab us... Meh.
*Troika lines need to be buffed. There's no reason why they should deal less dam- actually, WHY are they SLOWER than sealed swords? Both are heavy swords but Sealed Sword swing faster. And correct me if I'm wrong: Sealed sword is STILL FASTER WITHOUT asi even when troika has asi MED. Sure they got a charge buff and now the charge is very powerful, but it's normal combos are... weak.
4. Kinda saddening that people are only buying CE because of promos actually. But... well, it works.

6. It's not a bad drawback in terms of running clockworks, but there's only so much you can run before you get ultra bored because you run out of mist. Crafting wise I think it's somewhat too huge: 700/800 CE for a 5* item.That's like the 750 package JUST to make one 5* piece of gear, with mist. Including 4* gear and 3* gear... takes two 750 packages just to get ONE 5* piece. Or to be fair, the 1600 package. Now FTPs are lucky people are buying energy for them and themselves, when this... CE bank runs out they can't get any gear anymore and the game would just be dead. Maybe make CE somewhat available... like a permanent market in the game, say 10k-20k or something in crowns for 100 CE, where this permanent market will never run out. It is free to play. But free to play right now, WITHOUT CE buyers putting them on the depot, is basically a demo version: You can't get past 2* gear, you can't get past tier 2.
7. PTP lets you reach so called "endgame". It allows you to have mist alts as well I guess. You basically get your own separate mist tank. Free players (again disregarding the depot) is stuck at 2* and can't progress. They could grind insanely and earn 3* items through the AH, but they would ultimately be bored and quit.

9. Basically some people are complaining, few of them almost NEVER considering the server disadvantaged people. As for long time players, they stay because of these reasons I can think of: Social aspect, or hopes that OOO will release a big update or something of that nature. Like always theycould just quit and play something else, but a few of them still stay. New players don't understand all the fuss, some can't even reach 5*. Rich players now spend their time collecting as much accessories as they can, making costumes to entertain themselves. Or dealing with others, selling UVed items and what not.
