I realize a lot of people are tired of reading discussion threads on energy; however I feel there are still many perspectives and angles on energy consumption/prices that have not been examined.
So I'm starting this thread so we can further discuss this topic in more detail from other perspectives. Please share your observations on our current energy dilemma. However; please refrain from bringing up points/arguments that have already been discussed in other energy threads! TY!
I will start the thread by pointing out some of my observations:
1. The American national average wage index for 2009 is 40,711.61 according to http://www.ssa.gov/oact/cola/AWI.html, and the average American residential electric bill is $95.66 according to http://www.motherearthnews.com/Energy-Matters/Average-Electric-Bills.aspx. This means approximately 2.85% of the average American's daily salary goes towards energy consumption. I find these figures in stark contrast to daily energy consumption here in the world of Cradle. I mean for real... Half of my jelly loot goes to energy!
2. I have been lead by the storyline to believe that the gremlins may have built this amazing, and almost magical clockworks. However I can't understand why they have forgotten to put in such key infrastructure as a power grid. To me this feels like a really huge oversight for such skilled craftsmen. I mean I couldn't imagine going to the mall only to find out that I can't take the escalator to the second floor, because no one thought of running power to the escalator. Then lets assume I did actually bring my 200 pound back pack holding my mist energy canister, and I actually did power up the escalator to the second floor of the mall. How come my friends can't ride the escalator with me??? That would be like me and a buddy getting into a taxi cab, and the driver trying to charge us double- makes no sense.
3. And this brings me to my third and final observation. Why does it take more energy to descend into the clockworks than to go back up to Haven. Everyone knows it would take more energy to pull an elevator up than to lower it. I think it should take half the current amount of energy to go down a level, and then the full cost to go up a level. And if you didn't save enough energy to get back to the haven... well then your part of the clock works!
Please don't take this post serious! For real!!! Just have fun!
