At this current time there is an overflow of people who've suddenly recognized SK forums exists and deserves posting on. First, I'd like to give them a round of applause for joining us! Second, I'd like them all to post their general CE related complaints here for the population to further discuss and explain.

if there was NO P2P wouldnt OOO be forced to provide CE?
If there was no P2P OOO would be forced to shut down their servers and move on to another game. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

P2P'ers have been leaving awhile now... not quickly mind you... but slowly and surely.
Those that have CE or even CR stockpiles have yet to find a sink that significantly increase their need to have crowns. Basically, the few that have good amounts of CE have most of the equipment, accessories and such they require. Let alone access to a high-paying mission (King of Ashes) that makes it simple for relatively anyone to grind out the amount you see in market.
I don't recall all the exact figures... but I've noticed a pattern that whatever you can grind out of one run in FSC/ Vanaduke is really close to what the CE price becomes.
Do note, that although CE seems high right now, there are some people who feel they could be capable of squeezing even more CR out of the market. (10kcr = 100 CE anyone?)
Quite simply... SK's one of your best models for the economic lesson of Supply and Demand.
Many that bought CE regularly have seen the elevator passes and thought they could get a better deal, now we have less people dedicated to buying ce regularly, thereby stagnating ce flow.... What you see now is the result of such activity. High CE prices due to sheer lack of ce.
How OOO has currently combated this.
Adding new P2P content in hopes of more crownsinking (thereby nudging ce buyers to convert)
Punch Locking (another crownsink)
CE Promos (buying a ce pack will get you x new items/ accessories that are only available to wolver/substandard armors (not bombers))
CE incentives (Party Pack, Battle Pack, Explorer Pack... basically content wholesale)
OCH also provided a small amount of CE flow before people realized the most basic truth... that it isn't that profitable except for one time. (Unless you hope to corner the market in Seerus Masks)
How OOO could further combat this.
More CE promos
More shiny toys (weapons, armor, utilitarian devices)
Mass overhauls (MASSIVE OVERHAULING, Mission levels appear in arcade, Defensive armor overhauls, status power adjustments, likely a few monster buffs)
Release of all new content
Some of these could result in the server being downed for prolonged periods of time while they try to work in the code. Others could just be in your next patch. For all we know OOO is trying to do these things....
Honestly it's a bit of a waiting/grinding game.

I said it before and I'll say it again.
CE Promos.
With capes.
But new content first.
If we can have costumes that make us look similar to Sonic, and accessories that give us tails to look like Tails. I want a costume that makes me look like Dr. Robotnik... with 800CE... for a reasonable price.
OOO, make it happen.
Making Crowns tradeable on steam but not CE.
Suddenly all of the people who hoard CE to trade for out-of-game items would need to convert and those who want CE to make weapons/items would be able to buy it.
Appears to be a very double-edged blade that steam there. For this particular game anyway.
Please, just graveyard this, just graveyard this right now. It's going to turn into a P2P vs F2P (F2P vs P2P) like the rest of them have despite your intentions.
It's essentialy going to be this:
F2P: Stop raising the price of CE.
P2P: Just buy some and it'll fix itself.
