So, I love Lockdown, but there are so many people with over-powered weapons and I seem useless against them. What is the best Lockdown gear? Shoud I equip piercing resistant gear or what? Please help, and leave shield, weapons, and gear that are good for lockdown. Thanks!

First of all, shields don't have an effect in LD...

Second, everything seems better when someone else is using it to kill you.

Finally, the actual meat of the thread:

The most common weapon is the Flourish. The Flourish has a wide and quick first swing that is slightly larger than it appears. Because of this, the most common armor is Skolver, due to pierce resist and Weapon damage. Because of the sword focus, the most common class is Striker, because it benefits swordsmen dramatically. Because of both the Striker focus and the Skolver armor, the second most common weapon is the Gran Faust (and Divine Avenger works as well), due to a full GF/DA combo will insta-kill the average Skolver Striker. Because of this, most good player have Penta Heart Trinket(s), which dramatically increases their health, covering the main Striker weakness (low health).

One of the best ways to counter the average Skolver Striker is a few status bombs. The most common is the Voltaic Tempest, which will render most players incapable of moving or attacking. To counter the VT, most people spam Polaris, due to massive AOE and shock being just deadly in Lockdown.

Become a Recon bomber.

Fully heat all bombs and armour before playing.
For T3 LD (I have no experience here, criticism would be approved), I'd say:
Any old armour - what do you die to most? If the toothpicks, apparently Mercurial is a good choice for piercing and shock resists - or a bomber armour that gives the highest damage bonus (NOT CTR).
RSS/Nitro/Vortex/Status bomb - many people have freeze resist, fire doesn't help much and some clones have fire resist, people with UVs will go towards shock resist, poison doesn't help much at all, so my advice is the Stagger Storm, as it slows Strikers down to a crawl.
Trinkets for bomb damage bonus or health.

Its better to get a VT primarily, and then have a Stagger as a backup. VT is far more effective, but Stagger counters most of the really rare shock-resist sets.

If you do some GvG, have something other than bombs. In GvG, you'll occasionally see the rare Shock Immune Ice Queen set, which laughs at Stun, Freeze, and Shock.

You can't really beat people

You can't really beat people with weapons alone..believe it or not. I sense Skolvers are your problem 'if you can't beat em, join em!' most Skolvers like to rush in and squeeze in as much damage as possible, just be cautious when taking a base and strike at the moment when they have finished a combo (there is usually a 1 sec delay when people finish their combos and can't do anything).

Its generally a bad idea to finish a sword combo unless you KNOW that you can kill the enemy with the entire combo. It leaves you way too exposed.
