Hey guys,

I was just wondering what kind of damage is MOST common in FSC because it is like 30 levels away.

Also, could someone tell me what kind of armor and sword to use? Please don't give me answers like "it depends" or anything because that is annoying.

I like swords, spam charge attacks, use shield canceling ALOT and I also like speed :D

Thanks,

- Gridlow

BTW, Bopp, please don't post a link to your guides because I've read them several times.
Cheers!

Okay, I won't spam my guide for once. :)

For helmet/suit/shield, you want normal, elemental, shadow, and fire protection. Of these, shadow may seem really important --- there are lots of zombies --- but it's actually the easiest damage to dodge. Hence the popularity of stuff like Vog Cub. Once you get good at FSC, consider using Barbarous Thorn Shield. But when you're first starting out, a more defensive shield such as Grey Owlite is preferable.

For weapons, you want a big elemental weapon. I like DA best in FSC, but the other elemental swords are great too, and gunners can certainly use elemental guns. You want a piercing weapon to take out trojans. In a party, I use Blitz Needle; playing solo, I prefer Final Flourish/BTB. For doing Vanaduke in a party, you probably want either Blitz Needle or Shivermist Buster, as most parties run their offense through these weapons. (Blitz is popular because Vanaduke's body is slightly weak to piercing, and because you want the biggest charge attack possible, when you break the freeze.) For soloing Vanaduke, the more popular choice is a mobile gun such as Argent Peacemaker, Polaris, etc.

It still depends- if you like speed, you can try to play using a switstrike buckler, stick with vog, get ASI trinkets or some combination of that.
The 2 mayor elemental swords are the brandishes and DA, both with good enough spammabale charges.

So IT DEPENDS. Telling you to use one thing and only that would be wrong.

Zombies- Deal shadow damage,

Zombies- Deal shadow damage, can inflict fire.---------------------A LOT
Trojans- Deal shadow damage--------------------------------------A handful
Red Rovers (fire gunpuppies)- Deal elemental, inflict fire.----------A handful
Rocket Puppies- Deal elemental, can also inflict fire.------------------Only one
Oilers and wolvers- Deal piercing--------------------------------------Very few

Wheels- Normal, I think?
Shadow fire- Deals elemental, can inflict fire.

Basically, the majority of the damage is shadow, but the the most annoying is fire. Assuming you are new to FSC, you should probably get some fire defense, and since you use swords, Vog Cub gear is best (it gives Attack Speed Increase, which will also help with shield cancelling)

Eventually you will learn to avoid getting hit, thus avoiding fire, so as you move on you can swap vog for something else. NOTE: Vog has elemental damage, which WON't help against zombies and trojans. But, they are easy to dodge, so you won't necessarily need shadow defense.

Note that fire damage can be

Note that fire damage can be attained on any armor. Sure, some sets come with it default, and those are probably your best choice. But you could also pay money or roll UV's to get fire defense on any armor out there. So if you think you've got zombies handles, but for some reason are terrified of spikes (say, you lag into them a lot), so you want a piercing set, just get fire UV's on it.

If you like spamming charge attacks, i'd say go Brandish. It's totally overpowered, and as a bomber I generally prefer teammates spamming that over the Diving Avenger because Brandish does less knockback on the charge. I hate knockback.
