It's no secret, Almirian Crusader is one of the worst five star sets available!
It has two stats and a single resist, as well as a painfully big weakness to fire.

It's best stat is it's high Normal defense, which is microscopically more than that of that of the versatile wolver sets.
Dismally average resistance to dark.
It's only resistance is curse. A virtually useless stat with the exception of Shadow Lair Firestorm Citadel. A place in which this set is out classed by other sets anyway because of it's hurtful weakness to fire.
Which brings me to it's biggest weakness. It's weak to fire.

The set is among the most difficult to get, and yet it's far out classed by almost all other sets of it's level. It has no benefit exclusive to it. It doesn't have a viable resistance.
Come on! it's Almarian. It's end game in every sense of the word. So why is it so useless?
Give it a stat, please. Give it Bonus Damage vs Undead: Medium, make it a gimmick set at the very absolute least. Please. At least that's consistent with it's theme!
Do anything to help this set, just please make it something more than an aesthetic piece of metal! It's only right, it's only fair.

You would have to go threw some abstract ideas to get that to fit into it's lore.

Well, the empire did fell after vanaduke came burning and transformed Some soldiers would have stand up against their former king. They obviously failed so we can asume they DID NOT resist much fire. The curse resist is then explained with the sacred jewel they carried, the very same "maidens tear" required to craft it.

How is it not fitting into lore?
In fact, I see the armor making more sense than the shield. It's true that it still sucks tho.

No where in the wiki have I found anything that back your claim.

Vanaduke and his kingdom of Almire was torn by war visited upon the my it's neighboring kingdom, not the undead and slags that you find in it now. Those are the spirits of its people that haunt the castle in the game.
Vanaduke was cursed with his power to raise undead and turn everything he touches to cinder and ashes during his exile. In game he's not easily cursed, but maybe it's because he's already curse lore wise? Lol I digress.

An appropriate response, in my opinion, would be to make it a defense-oriented armor at the very least. Give it even higher defense levels than the Arcane Salamander set (which gets good resistances) and make the Curse resist a full-level resist. Why should that resist be half the power of other 5* sets?

I agree!

The Almire Set needs a buff cause it literally is the weakest set.

If you compare the set to the Heavenly set, you get penalty against shock which is similar to the fire penalty however it gets Bonus damage in sword and fiend!
Almost every set has a bonus effect except Ice Queen set but that set has no penalty what so ever...

Give it a small buff to make it stand out from the other sets you get from the Sanctuary alchemy machine.

Not quite...

Almirian Crusader set isn't ~quite~ the weakest set... (*cough*Valkyrie Mail, Armor of the Fallen*cough*) But yeah, Shadow armors & shields in general seems to be pretty gimped, and the Almirians' set is easily the weakest boss armor.

Yes. Weather it's the weakest or not is defiantly arguable. But ether way it's still among the least desired for a main armor set.
Considering how difficult it is to get and all the neat bonuses it's peers have to play with, this set is unquestionably sub par.

i do agree. but its not like anyone uses it as armor anyway. most people like the sets they have out now. and still wouldnt change unless their are better stats on it. they would use it as costume anyway.
