Yuuuuuuup, maybe not related, since Vana did burn ALL of Almire. Maybe more along the lines of the same species, Im pretty sure they're the "Humans" of the SK universe, though a connection with Almire is still not out of the question.

I'm going by the theory that Knights share a very similar physiology with basic almirians, but some almirians donned bigger armor and the such to denote higher rank.
Also, Atrum, the noses on our helms aren't "beak like mouths" like the one on the Almirian model. It's just that the helm is a retexture of the Almirian Crusader and the devs couldn't be bothered to flatten out the nose part.

I suppose it just looks like a trimmed down version, then. Looking at the new Guards, they just look like bulky Almirian Crusaders to me. :P
Then again, I'm going by other people's in-game screens, as I haven't hauled myself all the way through the Citadel since the update and my regular SS isn't working.
Well, apologies then, but as it's just a recolor I still see little reason to panic about spoilers.
