After unfortunate events in LD, i´m looking for a change so the question is:

for a recon in LD t2:

-is a shock a good wpn?
example: pulsar, shock bomb (dont remember name right now)

-a good combo of armor?
should i use a duster+demo suit ?

-some tips for bennigners?, i know there is a guide but it left me with many questions.

Recon = go bombs!

OK, so let's see...
1. Shock is AMAZINGLY annoying for Strikers as they don't have a shield and it stops them from killing you in 5 seconds flat. I'd know, I was one. It also helps against Recons (shock means they can't cloak) and stops Guardians in a haze, and lowers their shield if they get shocked, so you have a window of oppurtunity to hit them. TL;DR Get it.
2. Dusker and demo - if you are a hybrid, use the one which benefits you most. Here, though, I'd use Dusker if I were a hybrid, as demo doesn't offer bomb damage bonus (with fully heated bombs you hit CTR max), whereas Dusker offers sword damage bonus; also, Dusker protects more against toothpicks, which will be your primary source of deaths.
If you aren't a sword-bomb hybrid, get armour with normal and piercing and/or elemental - ele for hammers, normal for everything else, piercing for toothpicks. Hammers are easier to dodge, though. Possibly consider Quicksilver (shock and pierce).
3:
Don't stand cloaked on the middle of a point.
Don't try to outrun Strikers.
Learn how to dodge EVERYTHING, especially toothpicks (that comes from experience, though.)
Pack a Sun Shards and a Haze Bomb for anti-clone gear - Stun stops strikers dead, enought to charge up a CTR Max Sun Shards, cloak and go away.
For anti-Recon, go Shock and Sun Shards.
Don't even try to go 1V1 against Guardians. You will lose.

heres what i use as a

heres what i use as a recon:

static capacitor
super blast bomb
Twisted snarble barb / flourish / hammer
kilowatt pulsar / stun bomb / antigua

i would wear full dusker but alas i recently made skolver and snarby sets and i cbf making it again so i now use the seerus mask and quicksilver mail for the shock resist. demo armor is unnecessary, you get max ctr with fully heated bombs.

super blast bomb is amazing if u can keep up the spam. on a good day i can defend a point solo against the entire opposing team. kilowatt is good for area denial, antigua interrupts enemies, stun bomb is just fun to mess around with. as for the sword, tsb/flourish is the safer option and more reliable but the hammer's damage is pretty amazing once you learn to use it. probably a better weapon for a guardian or striker though.

and contrary to raisin, 1v1 guardian is easy with experience. if your using tsb/flourish, dance around them do the 1st swing ONLY and shield cancel immediately. move unpredictably. drop a status bomb if u can. their shield will break soon or they'll rage and attack madly trying to find you, either way they're dead. hammer combo will just smash right thru their shield if u can pull it off but you leave yourself vulnerable. personally i find strikers harder. you can also use your death marking ability to lure guardians into attacking.

as a recon you arguably have the most freedom. you can move around the map unseen and steal capture points from right under the enemies nose. make good use of this. if you're fairly new to LD, stick with the main pack. even if you just cloak and death mark enemies, you will be making a reasonable contribution. personally i think recon is one of the best classes to start learning on because you are in a unique position to just observe whats going on around you. i learnt most of what i know about being a striker and guardian by playing recon. you can learn a lot by watching what other people do.

as you get more experience and get a better feel for the game you learn when to stick with the main pack and when to go solo. in MOST cases do NOT try and take on a large group of enemies by yourself. just go somewhere else. look at the mini map and pay attention to what points are held and by who, and what direction the enemy is likely to head. try and get there before them if possible. otherwise both teams will be chasing each others tails the whole game and you're not going to get anywhere. SOMETIMES (rarely) taking on a large group solo IS necessary, the difficult part is learning when and that just comes with practice. if you can put up a good fight and keep them tied up for long enough it might just turn the game around.

if your shield breaks DO NOT run. strikers will catch you and kill you easily. bomb spam or otherwise fight your way out. you can feign retreat but be ready to turn at the last minute and smack em, catches people out fairly often.
