Do you hear the bells ringing Three Rings? The bells of Democracy?

Me & a few anti-PUG friends of mine have decided to revive the Softpaws Committee(SK's 1st political group in-game). I know there are many issues I've had & lots of hypocrisy chatter from me on both the forums & in-game but community of Spiral Knights, DO AS I SAY & NOT AS I DO. I'm not perfect, no one is. My people of Spiral Knights, the time has come friends, we're going to make a petition for crown inflation. You MUST join my cause! Crown Inflation will solve EVERYTHING I assure you. If Three Rings sees this then we'll make more profit in the game on our clockwork runs; the crowns recieved will have to rise in order to keep with sales from players as well as the CE market since in our current state we wouldn't afford it. Then, even more inflation will occur. This will resolve all our AH needs; it's time to remove that welfare building called an AH & turn it into an ACTUAL Auction House.
Right now, these baby promotions of paying 9.95$ to get ONE bunny ear or Cat Tail; who's going to spend 9.95$ to get them all!?!? MMM? These promotions are three ring's way of fixing the economy when the CE market is completely in chaos. Supply & demand? This concept is invalid when FIRSTLY, only a few portion of SK's population will even be able to buy them on the AH & SECONDLY, just how many players will ACTUALLY buy CE just to sell these accessories on the AH? This isn't a promo, this is just a little plus added when buying CE. Three Rings Corporate Company has FOOLED US FOR THE LAST TIME! MY BROTHERS & SISTERS OF SPIRAL KNIGHT, JOIN MY CAUSE IN CROWN INFLATION! If you're WITH ME on this petition then GIVE ME A +1! Let's tally votes! I ENCOURAGE US TO USE DIPLOMACY BUT IF I'M HIGHLY DISLIKED, I PROMISE YOU THREE RINGS THAT I WILL START RIOTS!

Lol, they are not trying to fix economy. They released this promo just to make people think that they 'listened to us' and gave us what we asked for. They pretend that they care about players needs and what we want and what we afraid of.
We wanted CE promo, we got it, why? Because we wanted CE price to drop.
But what next? In almost same time OOO makes half cost elevators "because they messed something up". Sure fine, but just now? With CE promo release? Coencidence? CE promo = ce price goes down but half cost elevators are doing something opposite. Result? Ce price stays almost same.
Its like OOO made that half cost elevators in purpose to keep CE price same while they made CE promo (as we wanted). There were no half / free elevators with bigger screwups from OOO side yet now they make half price elevator...

We have to work at COMBATING INFLATION. Are you dumb? Inflation of crowns (this isn't right, by the way) is not the way to go. The reason OOO is feeding the community these promotions is that they need funding and to stall the good updates. Updates and servers cost money to make and maintain. Fix the CE problem, and all else follows.

Really though, this is silly.
If they simply inflate the crowns, then the price of ce will inflate too, because ce is still more valuable than crowns.

This is a rather modest proposal if I do say so myself....
at least I hope so. Else, I'll have to strangle you.

Increase the crown drops, and the CE price will go up. CE prices are typically close to what you can get from FSC in a run, a little more lately but the point still stands. Low supply + always high demand = high price. The answer to the price is to get more people to buy CE with real money and sell it, not to increase the amount of crowns in game.

Spiral Knights belongs to its developpers, producers and any other staff. This can't be a democracy, and if it were, SK would be closed already.

While people say supply and demand is the cause i would like to point out its the people expected value of ce, when people value a good they set a price for it. I estimate that the "real expected" price of ce is equal to 10k cr in total since its the payout of FSC + tokens however right now what the consumer want is a price of 4-5k cr since you can buy 100 ce with grinding from RJP and IMF however since the law of supply demand in work here the equilibrium is closer to 7k since the thats the reward of FSC run minus the FSC tokens but since there is no ce promo for a long time and people hoarding ce the supply goes down and people put more expensive ce and the other guys who hoard the ce see this and they sell the ce in increments therefore increasing the price. Thats how ce works right now, trust me its gonna go down soon ( I expect 1-2 months, i think ce will hover 7500 cr this time around).

My thoughts when Elevator Passes officially became unlimited to buy was that crown hoarding would occur. This would have caused low demand but a problem here is that I've been seeing lots of players not wanting to support Three Rings; they profit well being F2P completely. But that is only a small amount of the huge F2P player base that can profit without the means of repetitive grinding & buying CE over & over(not everyone is a tradesman).
I believe & agree that if there was a higher amount of supply for CE to compete with the huge amount of demand, it should resolve CE prices. The CE buyers have more under-cutters(in this case more players who don't care of balancing the economy & just want CE) than the CE sellers(players wanting to sell low to make crowns quicker & don't care of balancing the economy either).

would it be possible for them to make 100ce a fixed price? say like 10k cr and all the levels in the the game would have there crown output raised a little so that everyone can afford a fixed price of 10kcr per 100ce, or would my idea make ce kinda useless?

Want to fix the economy? OOO: Want to make more money? Lower the real money price of CE. More people will buy it. I think I would. For me an elevator pass is a better deal, and makes for a super fun experience in SK. But buying an elevator pass does not help the economy...
p.s.
I'm curious what percentage of knights are capable of doing FSC runs. Anyone know the percentage, or have a guess at it? I can go, but only with a good team seeing as I'm in 4 star gear and don't have access to the mission, did I mention I suck at it? Not an easy place for me to go in 4 star gear.

They did listen. A bunch of kiddies wanted to look like cat and bunny people so they went and made it possible.
Ungrateful chumps.

The economy is fine. Leave it alone and stop complaining.
"Three Rings Corporate Company has FOOLED US FOR THE LAST TIME!"
There are no words to describe the irony and stupidity in that statement. OOO fools no one. The players ruin their own game by not accepting the mechanics and the way it works, and rather try to make it in their own way, hence forth ruining it even more, and then placing the blame on the devleopers because their idea did not work and they didn't think it through. Its called the CE market.
CR inflation?.... Sure, why not. I honestly dont care, since this will inevitably affect the CE market, jamming the price past 10k should it get that far.
In the end it doesnt matter, as there will always the those certain people ruining the game for themselves, and many others in the community.
What does OOO do? They give us promotions. Little things tacked on to CE to spark a reminder to the sellers that "Its time to buy again to satisfy the whiners!" and then give them an accessory as a little thank you gift, which is then thrown out or disregarded at the AH, or kept as a symbol of wealth.
I really think that the only reason I keep with this game is because I only speak with close friends and guildies. Because based on how everyone else is acting, I dont think I'd WANT to fight beside any other knights.
Prestige missions are my daily dose of new content.

No, he is right.
Buying energy is a short term fix, and the more people that do it, the larger the game grows. When you buy energy to sell, you make the game grow. You help fund a T1 or 2 player into liking the game more, and inviting his/her friends. But here's the catch- when you expand the game, you make your own circle of influence smaller. If 5 people played spiral knights, and one of them bought all of the CE, that one would have all of the power over all of the others, and would dictate the price. The more people you add on, the less influence the CE buyer has... lets say 2/10 are CE buyers. Now, the first guy who funded the expansion has half the power he had before. The same holds true for all numbers of CE buyers.. which is why no single player has any real influence over the economy in the long run.
Now, this should and would lead to exponential growth as people buy more people onto the game to buy more people etc, but people are also leaving the game. The number of CE buyers leaving outnumbers the number of ce buyers joining up until the number of CE buyers becomes steady- some people become "hooked" on the game, and write economic reports about it on the forums.. and a few of those (not me) buy ce. It then steadily grows at a boringly slow rate as regulars join up to the game, and that's where we are now. OOO makes a CE promotion, and those ce buying regulars buy some, and then those that don't buy CE buy the accessory off of them effectively wasting their crowns that could be put into buying energy. The rich ce buying player eventually sells some of the CE to catch up with the other rich CE buying players who sold both their CE and their accessory, and another accessory is purchased on the featured auctions, or another ASI very high UV is placed onto a brandish.
If promotions fail to lower CE prices enough to bring about enough growth to sustain the game, then they'll eventually have to do something- or see their game fail as less and less new players are able to join. And that is where the one entity that can change the economy- OOO, enters with their plethora of solutions.

It's the wedding of your intelligence and death.

I'm seriously having trouble figuring out how much of this is actually serious, or I'm just being screwed with here...
People were crying for a promo. The CE is going down slightly. Would you like a tiny violin ?
