i´m getting kinda bored of farming fsc 24/7. wanna try some arcade runs to mess around and practise a bit.
i thought of:

Chaos Cowl DMG 1/CTR 1
Chaos Cloak DMG 1/CTR 1
Swiftstrike ASI 3
weapon-based CTR 2

Bonus on all weapons
=> DMG 2
CTR 4
ASI 3

now let´s come to the more interesting part. weapon choices:
voltedge (CTR med)
stagger storm (CTR med)

but what else would you personally suggest to go hunting with in the clockworks?
what weapons are most fun to use? what would fit to the loadout so far?
what are your opinions on

callahan
biohazard/ neutralizer
umbra driver/ magma driver (cause of the satisfying feeling to set enemies on fire) should i watch out for ASI or CTR?
final flourish (ASI med) are rigadoon and flamberge useful, too?
acheron/ gran faust (ASI med)
polaris
dread venom striker
winmillion
valiance

?

be free to post anything you want as far as it´s at least a little bit helpful.
oh, and please make sure not to self display as an ignorant dumbass :)

Huzzah! Err, I mean... Oh yeah!

I personally wouldn't describe the Stagger Storm as fun so much as suicidal due to the glitches with stun infliction. Also, for me, Polaris makes everything way too easy if used excessively so try to avoid doing that.

Fun sets I've enjoyed are (although I'd suggest switching out the Polaris if you don't want an easy button) :

. Wild Hunting Blade, Polaris, Fang of Vog, Biohazard (You'll want to use Vog cub or anything that adds ASI due to how effective ASI
. . is with a fast sword and how vital it is for a slow sword like the FoV along with fire resist due to how nice it is to actually
. . . survive a charge of the FoV. WHB charge can be a bit tricky to get used to but it's quite fun and powerful)
. Gran Faust, Polaris, Warmaster Rocket Hammer, Plague Needle (Use Faust if you want to spam the curse charge)
. Plague Needle, Hail Driver, Biohazard, Sentenza (My most recent set. I go in-depth below)
. Shivermist Buster, Radiant Sun Shard, Ash of Agni, Dark Retribution (The DR is very good in tandem with AoA but use a Graviton
. . Vortex if you can't get DR. I go in-depth below)

If you want added challenge, use the gunner set with the Swiftstrike Buckler in Candlestick Keep or a fiend area...

For the bomber I'd suggest a Mercurial Demo Helm and Mercurial Mail with a Crest of Almire. If you can't get the helm, I'd suggest going with regular Mercurial as I can't stand bombing without the speed bonus. You can't outrun a number of enemies and will get beaten down hard by greavers, cats, jellies, and mecha knights without MSI Med. RSS will be your primary source of damage and switch hitting. It's wonderful at both. AoA and DR for everything that the RSS is less opportune for. SB can be replaced with Venom Veiler or SS as I barely use it with this setup unless things gets a bit rough.

All of the gun charges are insanely fun, especially the Biohazard(Even more so with a full party of them! RJP is awesome with this.) but the Plague Needle isn't entirely suggested as it is severely weaker than the Blitz Needle by about 100 points of damage per charge bullet even with poison inflicted. I use the Plague Needle for the sake of menders and it works wonders as a gremlin killer. I mainly use the Sentenza to snipe out menders into a shield bubble for a Plague charge or for the big bird charge although it takes a bit to get used for the timing due to how long the charge is. Any Alchemer is fun but I like Hail due to being able to release a charge then charge up another while the enemy is stuck there. As an observation, it seems that the Alchemer charge shots are more likely to all hit a target when you hit them from a diagonal and do insane damage when they do so. So Biohazard is great on Jellies and Constructs - Plague Needle with Gremlins, Trojans, Beasts, and Zombies - Hail Driver is great on Undead, Constructs(must utilize ricochet for mecha knights), and Fiends(Freeze will save your life against greavers but is iffy on devilites until they're frozen) - Sentenza is great for mender sniping and quick long distance strikes

***Most heavily suggested weapons - RSS, WHB(sexier)/DVS, Biohazard, Alchemer, FoV, GF, WRH, GV/Electron Vortex, and Callahan although I have no actual experience of using it.

These are sets that I personally find fun and tips that work for me. Take out of it what you will or ignore it. :3

volti?

"volti"

Does that mean Voltedge, Voltaic Tempest, or Volt Driver?

@Bopp
voltedge. edited in the top post

@Noogard
ty for the detailed information :) i personally don´t like pure bombing/gunning, that´s why i chose chaos and swift. mayb i gonna go for a gunner/ bomber set in the future.

polaris is not a real option for this set, cause you can more or less easily clear fsc+vana with pol only. i like polaris, but, as you already pointed out, it´s too easy imo.
wild hunting blade (WHB) and dread venom striker (DVS) seem to be fun. i once played with the knight of a friend who owns a WHB... quite tricky to use but fun. on the other hand i´d like a balanced loadout which eventually contains all 3 types of damage. though i´m happy with 2 of ´em ;)

the shadow swords are kinda boring to use so i´d like to try biohazard
if i´d add bio to my former weapons a pierce weapon is what i need. so i stick with callahan/final flourish (think i´d prefer one of the status ones).

what are your opinions on those?
oh and: what trinkets do you think fit to that loadout?
looks like there´s some DMG missing so i´d put sword DMG/ gun DMG on. with a flourish sword ASI is an option, too

Voltedge and Final Flourish would be "boring"

It seems that you want to use some "interesting" weapons, that are not obviously the best weapons in the game, to give yourself some fun challenge. And you say that you want to focus on guns and bombs, but then you name a lot of powerful swords (Voltedge, Final Flourish). So what you want isn't exactly clear.

These weapons that you've mentioned are fun and interesting: Callahan, DVS/WHB, Valiance. I've never used Biohazard, but it must be fun too.

Consider also the two-stroke swords. They are fun, and not as easy to use well as the three-stroke swords (including Voltedge, FF).

@weapons

I use the same armor/shield set and some of those weapons. I can give you my opinion on them:

Callahan: This is way more fun if you learn the switch-shooting technique. Reloading is a butt. In case you were wondering, currently, the Iron Slug does exactly the same amount of damage as the Callahan on neutral enemies, minus the status on regular shots. It's underwhelming but can interrupt jellies and turrets.

Biohazard/Neutralizer: This is fun combined with Vortex or Shivermist. Moreso with Vortex.

Umbra driver/ magma driver: CTR is the best for its DPS when you're fighting 2+ enemies of the same type (since it's easier to drag them together and get super "critical" hits where you get 90-100% of the ricochets to hit the same monsters.

Gran faust (ASI med): If you find heavy swords fun, well, it's your standard heavy sword lol.

Valiance: Basic can-do-everything gun. Two-shots then pausing/switch-shooting will do respectable damage while giving you decent mobility. It's decent vs few enemies, but not really a crowd gun.

@Bopp
i can´t remember saying i wanted to focus on guns/bombs. correct me if i´m mistaken.
primarily i want a fun loadout and i think of max ctr volti as fun to me. i named flamberge and rigadoon as ff-alternatives. i don´t really want to overuse my lovely ff :)
ty for your opinion

@Seiran
vortex + voltedge might be an interesting combo, too :D
ctr leads to higher dps but what about kiting for e.g. arenas...? can you still charge alchemers there?
ty, too

i think i gonna put biohazard on my list

sorry

"i can´t remember saying i wanted to focus on guns/bombs."

You certainly didn't say so in your original post. I must have gotten it from your post #3: "mayb i gonna go for a gunner/ bomber set in the future" If you like swords, then don't let me dissuade you; my typical loadout is something like Combuster, Acheron, Final Flourish. :)

Other than that miscommunication, I'll stick with my suggestions for fun: 5-stroke swords, 2-stroke swords, Callahan, Biohazard, Valiance. And vortex bombs are fun too. Good luck.

@Bopp ye, we kinda

@Bopp
ye, we kinda misinterpreted each others posts ;)

biohazard, callahan, dvs, flamberge. and swap between those.

any other suggestions for weapons we forgot to mention? =)

no elemental

Well, you don't have any elemental damage in there. Of course it's not necessary, but that's usually the first non-normal damage that people reach for. Do you have Fang of Vog? Preferably with big CTR? That can be *really* fun.

But FoV is so fun!

I guess if you're dead set on the Chaos set then it isn't a very good option.

For the sake of diversity, you could replace your Flamberge(It seems pointless to me when you have a DVS but whatever floats your boat) with a Radiant Sun Shards(because it's awesome and shiny), an Ash of Agni(Hey, more fire), or a Valiance(I have not used this gun but the knockback coupled with an awesome charge explosion seems quite fun).

As for trinkets, you will definitely want more Sword ASI for the DVS as it is quite important for it. After that, it's personal preference. If you're willing to lose a CTR, going with Chaos Cloak and Crown of the Fallen(Imo, this combination looks awesome) could be a good route so you could get ASI Max but then only one weapon type would have CTR Ultra(Which would go best with bombs if you choose to use one but guns if not) and the rest would have High outside of UVs. However, this choice depends on style and how much you want to spam the charges.

FoV+Chaos isn´t an option imo. FoV is for charge. and there´s a lack of 4 points fire resi :/ too hardcore for me ;D

well... i got a nice FF so i could save the money for Flamberge. i like DVS so i gonna choose that one. RSS isn´t my way of playing, though it might be an interesting option for other players.
i already got a master blaster and i enjoyed clearing RJP with it. think i gotta use it more frequently :D
i agree with you, chaos and crown fit perfectly.
i like the ASI idea =)
swift+crown+UV...
i´d still have voltedge CTR ultra and Stagger CTR Ultra, the only 2 weapons i chargespam with so far.

interesting ideas, ty
