I have a 3 star dusker coat and iceburst brandish and 2 star wolver cap, defender and handgun(cant remember the name).
Well, I am now thinking of getting a 4star gear (but not having a full 3 star gear) since i found that a 4 star gear is capped over a 3star gear a lot, compared to 3 star capped over 2 star. well, you don't see much difference between a wolver coat and dusker coat while there is a big difference between dusker coat and ash tail coat.

But the question is, should I upgrade my armor or weapon first? It seems a ash tail coat can block a lot attacks especially in battle arena and danger room where there are a lot of gun puppies. However, a good sword is also a essential thing to own....

If you were me, what would you choose?

P.S. My Internet connection is not quite well as I am sharing the line with my flatmates in Australia and therefore I suffer from lag, always...So, maybe a better armor is more important to me?

Yes, better armour.

IMO, the order of upgrading is this:
1. Armour (first for people who suffer from lag)
Then, one of the others according to this criterion:
-Shield if you are not capable of dodging (not if you have lag (as much), because lag stops effective blocking)
-Weapons if you are capable of dodging.
Finally, whichever is left over.

big difference between 3-star and 4-star

Right: There is a big difference between 3-star gear and 4-star gear. The big jumps come at the 2-star and 4-star levels.

The order of upgrading doesn't matter a whole lot --- eventually you'll get everything up to 5-star --- but I recommend that you upgrade everything to 3-star, then upgrade everything to 4-star, then make sure you really like the items you're using, and then upgrade everything to 5-star.

The conventional wisdom in this game is that offense is far more important than defense. But you're laggy, and you're using armor that gives offensive bonuses, so definitely do not leave your armor behind.

Finally, stop working on your Defender/Aegis and start working on Barbarous Thorn Shield. For sworders, BTS is a far superior shield, due to the big offensive bonus. If defense is really a problem for you, then consider a more useful defensive shield, such as Grey Owlite, as well.

Thanks for the tips. I have now changed to Bristling Buckler by spending 10 easy tokens. It's real good! Thanks again.
And you have a point that I may not like the gear as I go further down in the clockwork. But for now, I think I will start with a ash tail coat and then the remaining 3 stars, then 4 star.
