You have the shape down fairly well, although you're going to need to paint it if you want it to be 100%... and I don't know what you'll do about the glowy lines that float on the sides.

All in all, a good start.

1st Treasure Valut 2nd Nice

1st Treasure Valut

2nd Nice one, indeed it need some finishing, the patches of tapes are too visible. Are you plannig to make it some kind of action toy or maybe just an exhibit? If its gonna be exhibit with a little work you can achieve very nice aura effect, but if its going to be action toy its quite impossible.

It's really great!

If you ask me, the glowy

If you ask me, the glowy lines are a perfect excuse to use electroluminescent wire, with a power supply hidden in the fat part at the bottom of the sword. Tell your parents it's an opportunity to learn about hobby electronics.

There are many suppliers and many tutorials for using this stuff to make light sabers as well, but the adafruit page has some good technical articles and cool examples.

SUNSHAAAAAAAAARDS

Don't forget the glowing eyes on the hilt- these could be where you put the power supply!

And it is an opportunity to learn about hobby electronics. In fact, I should aim for making a working Shufflebot...
