Need Help. Help Rhendon destroy the monsters - Rescue Camp

So I have my bomb equipped. The mission doesn't progress. I assume the gate will open to the monsters (or something), but nothing happens. I get the same comment from Rhendon over and over again. What am I missing?

I'd try to un-equip and re-equip the bomb.
