for skolver set (piercing), if one were to get elemental MED UVs on both helm & armour, then the additive effect should be a VERY HIGH (med + med = very high ?) elemental defense for skolver set - did i get that wrong ? cos on the bar visuals, it looks very underwhelming. hopefully, someone can shed some light on this. would be appreciated :)

a) Unique variant levels for

a) Unique variant levels for Armor pieces are low, medium, high, maximum. there is no "very high" here.
b) concerning your question: I believe the defense would add up to the same amount as a single maximum from what I can tell from the length of my UV bars. A "maximum" defense UV would have approx. 40% of the Item's base defense bar length, for medium it is about 20%, I haven't counted pixesl but when comparing my max shadow GOS to my med Shadow BTS it seems at least reasonable taht you can calculate it that way.

Armor UVs have 4 levels: low, medium, high, and max. Maximum is the equivalent of a very high weapon UV in that it is the 4th level. Armor, however, doesn't have the hard UV cap that weapons do and you can have more and more resistance than even the bars show and max is just the maximum amount of resistance that specific piece can have. So, med on 2 armor pieces is the equivalent of max on one piece. Now, the bars may look underwhelming, and that's because they are. They are significant, though, and you would take a small amount less elemental damage than normal. Obviously you would take even less damage with max on both, and less with innate elemental resist, and you get the rest.

Thnk about it, if it was a big effect, we could just create a single overpowered set.

see wiki article "Abilities"

I've skimmed the earlier posts, and they seem accurate, but for your future reference the wiki article to read is "Abilities".

@Juances
Ever seen an Ice Queen Set with max Shock Resist in LD? That's a nightmare for almost any LD bomber.

ah ok :)

thanks for everyone's comments :) i guess i am not expecting the UV (eg elemental) to be the equivalent of the piercing defense on a skolver set, but was hoping it would not look quite as pathetic. but what i keep forgetting is, its a med UV for each piece - which sums to 1 max on 1 piece, not 1 max, each, on both pieces. but yup, as Traevelliath points out, i guess all these extra UVs makes a lot of difference in LD

imagine an elemental bomber with a decent piercing defense, obtained through UVs and trinkets, as compared to an elemental bomber with none of those UVs & trinkets. Skills make a difference, but i dont think ppl would deny that all those extra stuff also enhances your performance significantly.
