I've always wanted to bomb in lockdown but decided it would be to expensive and time consuming if i were to get a good 5* set as i haven't even completed my other 5* stuff. i played tier 2 ld with a friend and realised this would be a good place to start! so i picked up the demo set and already had some bombs in my inventory. i was wondering if anyone could recommend to me good bombs for tier 2 ld and good bombs for tier 3 ld. i currently have:

- spiral demo helm
- spiral demo suit

- crystal bomb
- electron charge
- static capacitor
- spine cone

Thanks in advanced!

LD Bombing

Bombing is quite fun in Ld ^^

I would strongly encourage you to upgrade the crystal bomb into Sun Shards. These have elemental and piercing damage, and have excellent range with the shards shooting in all 8 cardinal directions. Similarly, I've heard shock bombs (in this case the capacitor) are really helpful, though I have not had much success with them personally.

In my opinion, the best thing to do is take one bomb (Sun Shards is my bomb of choice) and a gun (I use a Shadowtech Alchemer MK II) so that you can just camp bomb or use the gun to take out an enemy without having to charge and with accuracy. The main problem with this loadout is that it's tough to kill guardians. If you have a third weapon slot, definitely bring along any vaporizer (probably shock) as those are great for taking out guardians.

LD bombing

I used to be a bomber and i had trouble to but it depends how u choose ur loadout. Do you do recon, striker, or guardian?

If u do recon do a bomb that stalls and a bomb that has a instant strike.

bombs include:
super blast bomb
freezing vaporizer

If u do guardian go with the charges like the gravitation and electron.

Striker isnt a good bombing load out.

For a bomber:

Voltaic Tempest is pretty much a must. It will be your primary tool. Staggering Storm is a good backup, but you probably wont need that until you get into GvG or are up against serious LD players.

Radiant Sun Shards are fun, but not always practical

for T2:
Lightning Capacitor
Haze Bomb MK II
Super Blast Bomb
Sun Shards

Don't bother with spine cone for LD. It's awesome in the clockworks but its lack of knockback will hurt you in LD, people will just stroll thru it and kill you. electron charge is interesting but not that useful for LD, at least not at 3*. The radius is too small and people can still attack you when they're stuck in it.

If you have the expansion, Dark Reprisal MK II can be useful situationally. If I'm using an all bomb loadout I use it in conjunction with a shock bomb to break guardian shields. It also throws a lot of people off since its not that common in LD. I find a lot of people don't know how to react to it, especially if they haven't seen it before, they just kinda stand there not knowing what to do then awkwardly walk away XD largely depends on the skill level of your opposition though.

Another thing, just in case you don't know this already, demo armour isn't necessary if you play recon (which you should) and have heat level 10 bombs (shouldn't really be using unheated gear anyway). The class mod gives med CTR to bombs plus med CTR to everything (including bombs). Combine with the med CTR for level 10 and you have max. As a bomber you're gonna want lots of shock resist, so look into a quicksilver set, or even better quicksilver mail with seerus mask if you can get it.

For T3, just upgrade the bombs listed above. vortex might be viable, but consider perhaps leaving it at 4* (if you intend to use it solely as a LD weapon) because it has a faster charge time, 5* slows down noticeably. unlike T2, bomber armour will help you (if you make mad or bombastic set) because it gives a damage bonus. Mad is more useful outside of LD if you want a set to use for the clockworks as well, but bombastic would be better for LD.

Graviton Charge

Graviton Charge is almost same as Electron Charge, it just does shadow damage instead of elemental. And Graviton Charge does more damage.

Guardian: Mad Bomber; Health Trinkets; Radiant Sun Shards, Voltaic Tempest, Stagger Storm, Final Flourish.

I don't bomb much, but I've seen this type of build work successfully for others. The sword is for finishing off stunned/shocked opponents or as a last resort.
