I am just wondering what does it do to effect the overall performance of the game. I see no difference of the graphics when I turn the Vertical Sync option on or off, also goes the same with render effects as well.
The only thing I have noticed is lower fps if those things are turned on. ?
What does Verticle Sync option and render effects graphic option do?

Vsync
Simply put, Vsync, waits for your display to be down showing you the current picture of the game, before providing the next picture of the game
So your display doesn't show you half of one picture and half of another picture.
In a few previous games i played, the general consensus was, turn it off..
as vsync slowed the games..
but spiral knights does not seem to have that issue.
