"Fixed a bug in Lockdown damage calculation that was resulting in heavy damage from multiple attacks"
Yay back to the old combat system.
It was fun while it lasted.
Shidara shelves their alchemers.
..blitz needle spammers were really annoying and unfair. Alchemers will remain good weapons anyway (even if they won't instakill anymore).
You cannot imagine how evil I am gonna be with those who spammed blitz. I still rememebr their faces!! O_O
I'm gonna make my GF shiny now >:D
Guns would be actually on par with swords had they kept it that way for guns only.
*pets his 2 alchemers and blackhawk*
See you later, Sudaruska. It was fun being able to actually double-hit with the charge attack.
Hooray, I can be a guard again. I expect this won't be the last we see of this though. Bet OOO put working on tweaks to LD on the list of things to do.
YES!
Bulby cheers. Hurray!
P.S.
And don't feel too bad, your guns (especially alchemers) are still very deadly. You just have to learn to use 'em. :T
you broke it 000. now people get to abuse the invincibility bug.
you ROYALLY screwed up
Again, worst patch ever for PvPers, excluding half the equipment again.
Nick did say that he will consider bringing most of the "bug" feature back.
So there is still hope Damienfoxy and Aumir (I think...)
it's an improvement on the ridiculous cutter spam.
That sword has an awful lot of attack-cancelling capability, I got spammed by it as a guardian and couldn't even move or retaliate :U
I'll be missing the added damage for alchemers, though.
LD is fixed, just like the Pepperbox.
Okay, sure, there were a few kinks, but it sure beat Attack of the Clones.
I find it amusing how people got upset to dying over something that would normally be considered noobish. It's okay if you're caught in a toothpick dance or 2shotted by a granfaust but if kept in a combo by the weapon with shortest range or killed by a gun that makes one a sitting duck, you feel like it's broken.
Of course, any way the wind blows. I'll adapt to whatever and will continue to use what I like, no matter how OP or noobish it is.
So now when I kite someone PERFECTLY onto my SunShards they wont get hurt at all?
Tis a sad day for bombers
Well... I'm gonna miss back when spammers just waltzed into my blast bomb nukes....
Now I get to deal with toothpicks all the time again... :P
Need to level my fresh t2 Sun Shards.....
And I also need to try strikebombing in t3...
Seriously, you guys accidentally found a way to fix lockdown and then screwed it up by listening to the "pro" guys that benefit directly from lockdown not being changed. Someone will ALWAYS find lockdown as their niche in the game; the argument "That wouldn't be fair to this small minority of players wielding VH ASI toothpicesque swords and max shock/max stun skolver" should not apply... not only did this benefit other weapons, but it made the game a lot more balanced in general, and forced teamwork more often. A solo guardian is already stunlocked into having a broken shield when a skolver clone comes up and gets to it... so why are we having so much fuss over people being able to kill them with antigua lines and cutters faster? Blitz needle is better off being used in such a way that it can damage over being excluded from PvP entirely.
Cutters were not over powered. They were just like toothpics, but had less range. The strategy was slightly different for using them, and getting people 'caught' in them was challenging... toothpics have huge range, which lets them have an advantage over cutters even when they're improved by the damage thing.
They said they'll come back to it. And the missing invulnerability didn't only affect lockdown, but PVE after some revives, so the bug had to be fixed. Hopefully they'll reintroduce some of the changes in the near future.
It's nearly impossible for a gunner to take out a decent guard in a reasonable amount of time. The bugged antigua changed this, but made it much too easy. There needs to be some middle ground, otherwise guards will be totally useless.
Definitely agree about cutters. I have no idea why people kept complaining about them.
I see you didn't mention hammers. They were horrifically over-powered by the bug. Really wish OOO didn't make those, as they are an obnoxious weapon, with or without the bug...
My only issue with the hammer is that once they get the dash going, I find, they cannot be flinched anymore, and the third hit can still connect. This has happened to me so many times it's not even funny, and it's a pretty devastating follow-up to the already lethal dash. This happened quite often during the bug, where I would run headfirst into a hammer combo with a connecting flourish combo, yet the hammer still goes. I barely came out of that confrontation alive. If hammers could be interrupted, this wouldn't such an issue.
Yay, thanks to the revert, everyone has gone back to using the same two weapons. Good to see you all love variety. Freaken clones.
puts dark retribution away.
