i have enough junk to craft both of them, but i have to choose only one, and i would like your guy's opinion on which one i should get.
I want to do JK runs and get sealed sword and the antigua, so +1 for nightblade.
I like doing LD with flame-based weapons, so +1 for FBB.
I suggest that u get the nightblade because I think jellies and gremlins are most common. Just get a percing gun or bomb.
Although Fireburst is a neat option at first glance, you should focus on the Shockburst/Iceburst lines, as they will serve you well later on in the game (Especially while doing FSC runs!)
Combuster out does Glacius and Voltedge in pure damage, even in FSC. The Combuster and Acheron almost always ensure that the targets will be hit by all the waves. The Glacius and Voltedge tend to get the initial swing and maybe 1 or 2 explosions worth of damage, while the Combuster gets the initial swing and ALL the explosions in damage.
ummm.... I dont even know how to start this.. lets see, first of all, they are two way different kind of weapons. Second of all, sounds like you want to keep these weapons after you craft it... so IMO you should get both. it just depends on what should be crafted first.
Why the Brandish series? The 2 swing swords are the best when you master it :P Especially their charge attacks! They look awesome.. :3

Also, you can ragecraft Brandishes, but you have to punch roll Sealed Swords.

Most Voltedge users WILL admit sometimes shock does not effect and they ride full wave and even somtimes if shock if they do NOT spasm immediately still will ride 4-5 blasts(they ride the full wave approximately 33% of the time and out of that 33% of the time it'll shock 80% of the time)Not to mention shock stops em from moving for another charge AND stops attack abou' 20-40 dmg per spasm
Glacius however will 99% freeze and stop them BUT you can go round and do another charge on 'em or if you let the freeze wear off (you'll do that 1% of the time)it'll do 'bout 230 dmg about
Combuster will ride the whole wave and each combuster blast(and voltedge and glacius)will do about 120 dmg roughly Maybe more with dmg bonus
all dmg values here are on zombies in FSC
Nighblade will have the same things as Combuster and dmg values off slimes/gremlin in stratum 6
Additionatly I will reccomend Voltedge but there i one hitch.PvP.you need 50 krogmo coins for shockburst-100 for bolt brand-150 for voltedge
300 Kcoins for the RECIPES
Nightblade-Shockburst-Boltbrand-Silent nightblade-Voltedge-Acheron-Straight to Combuster then Straight through to Glacius-Then cautery(if you want) is the order i will recommend

You waste extra time to get that damage from freeze. And why go around, combuster sends enemies away, you'll get another charge ready by the time they get close again.
And 3 charges are almost enough to kill anything. Raw damage helps you achieve that better than an utility status like shock spams.
@Thefirstgamer- Combuster works well during FSC runs even without it's status.For more information consult Bopp.
Now, yes, Athresh, Combuster works well for highest damage, but statuses (Including Combuster's Fire) usually benefit the tactics of player more, so all in all, it's truly a 1-3 choice of what you want.
Of course, if you really want to blow some CE, you can nab all five Brandish branches and experiment with them until you find the one that suits your playstyle the best.
And for me, that was Voltedge/Acheron.
for LD, shock/freeze is more preferred. I personally hate lockdown, and I am keen on clockworks, so nightblade.
